Head offshore aboard Balihoo Boat and experience some of the best fishing the Caribbean has to offer. There's a whole other world underwater, so leave the hustle and bustle of the resort behind and come see for yourself. With Captain Ramirez, you'll be in the hands of a true professional. Having run charters since 2004, he says he knows just what's needed for a successful fishing trip, and he can't wait to take you out.
Head offshore aboard a 27' Super Panga saltwater fishing boat. There's plenty of space for a party of 6 to come aboard and fish, and there's enough cover for you to shade away from the blistering sun. Powered by twin 50 HP Yamaha engines, she's a serious fishing vessel. You'll have the edge over every other boat as you make use of the onboard livewell, tuna tubes, outriggers, and fighting chair to maximize your fishing potential.
There's great fish on offer year-round. In the summer, head up to 6 miles offshore and the fish are just monstrous. You'll troll the water tops for huge Billfish like Marlin and Sailfish, and catch a few delicious Mahi Mahis on the way. In the winter, the reefs are where it's at. Bottom fish by jigging to entice the bite of stunning Snappers and Yellowtails, Wahoo, and many more. If you'd like it a bit more hands-on, just let the captain know and you can try spearfishing.
Snorkeling equipment is already on board, so you'll have the opportunity of cooling off in the water while studying the clear, exotic underworld up close. With drinks provided, all you need to do is bring your own snacks, probably some sunscreen, and settle in for a memorable day exploring the Caribbean. The Balihoo Boat is calling you aboard to experience these waters as they deserve to be seen.

my two boys and myself both caught fish. Mahi Mahi were the fish of the day. I cought a five ft long Mahi Mahi and the boys caught some two and a half footers. I got a couple blisters from reeling in the fish but no complaints here. We did the 4 hr 730am excursion. Well worth it and would recommend. captain and crew were amazing, and spoke English well and communication was easy. They new where to find the fish, but fishing is fishing and won't be the same everytime. I would do another trip with them for sure next time we are down here in Playa del Carmen

We were blessed with excellent weather and calm seas, but the best part was our amazing, friendly, bilingual crew, led by captain Baltha and first mate Willie, who know the waters around Playa del Carmen so well. Not only did we catch some beautiful Mahi Mahi and Tuna, we swam in the warm waters of a secluded beach and the best part was the restaurant where we docked, which cooked our catch to perfection. We had our seven year old and one year old sons with us and had a blast. Our seven year old said it was the best food of his life, mostly because he caught it!
this was my second time going out with Captain Remeriz. him and his crew are great. My buddy came in from colorado and this was his bucket list item for the trip and Captain Rameriz delivered! We caught 9 Mahi. Cap cleaned them for us on the dock and we cooked up 3 right there and took 3 home. What an incredible day!
Had an absolute blast. We were celebrating our honeymoon and they made the trip easy and fun. We started morning off bottom fishing and caught tons of red snapper in under an hour. They fixed us up probably the best meal of the trip with amazing ceviche! They surprised us with a little bottle of bubbly to celebrate too! We spent almost an hour checking out the reef with them guiding us and showing us amazing spots. We saws tons of conk, fish, a stingray, sand dollars, starfish, and so much more. Did a tiny bit of trolling but weren't catching much then due to weather. Hands down the best day and 100% recommend them for your fishing trip!
Growing up near the sea in Mexico meant that Captain Ramirez grew up with a rod in his hands. It was only logical, then, that he turn his passion, and the passion of a community, into a profession. He's been a qualified captain since 2004 and just loves running charters. For Capt. Ramirez, seeing people smile as they reel in a fish is the biggest perk of the job, along with being able to spend time on the water.
