Awesome experience with a great crew!

My son really wanted to experience catching a big fish (something bigger than a trout). it was a slow start but Daniel and Johnny worked really hard trolling everywhere and hooked onto a fish. My son was able to reel in his first ever sailfish! He was so excited! Although, this was the only fish caught , it was still memorable. We stopped off at a reef for some snorkeling and saw many cool and colorful fish, sea turtles and some stingrays. If you are looking for a great boat and crew this is it. They work very hard to put you on fish. You'll have a great time with them. (if you have any photos and videos can you please send them to me? thank you 🙏)

Great Experience

Let me start by noting this is not a negative review - but a very possible experience for others. We did not catch any fish - however the experience was still great.
We came to Playa knowing the condition of the sargassum. Unfortunately it heavily got in the way of our trip. What went right, though?
The crew was super kind and helpful getting on to the boat and off. It was clean and they provided cold soda and water for the trip.
The seats had extra cushion (coming from someone who doesn't have any on their boat, this was great for our 6hr trip!)
The views of the coast line were beautiful. We saw both Playa and Cozumel, passed different types of boats, and covered a large area.
Quickly in the trip the crew contacted local connections to see where the fish were biting. They didn't stop until it was time to head back. It was clear they wanted to catch something just as much (or more) than we did.
I would absolutely book another trip during our next vacation here.
Tips: if you want to bring a book - don't. This is what I usually do while my husband goes fresh water fishing. You are trolling so constantly moving and it was difficult to keep focus. The views will keep you occupied!
Bring snacks, but honestly 6 hours flew by. They had plenty of water on board for us so no extra is needed unless you're just bringing on a water bottle.
They provide water shoes to get onto the boat to avoid slippery rocks. Many different sizes available!

Another awesome day out fishing with Alondra III Sport Fishing. Captain Isaias and First Mate Daniel are masters of their craft. Extremely professional, excellent communication. They go above and beyond to put you on fish.. Fishing is fishing, but if you don't catch fish with them then chances are no one has caught anything. They find fish when no one else does because they will travel long distances, where others will not, and because they will fish in the floating weeds where it is a constant challenge for the first mate to keep the lines clear. But that is what sets them apart and why they are very successful.
We went out yesterday (5/07) and it started slow but we ended the day with 5 Mahi-Mahi, 1 'cuda, and about 5 other lost fish. All in all, an excellent trip!
Also, the ceviche is down right unreal. I would book with Capt. Isaias and the Alondra III just for that alone.
Do not pass up your chance to fish with a guide who will undoubtedly become a fishing legend in these waters!

If you are looking for an experienced, friendly, and top-tier fishing charter in Playa Del Carmen, look no further than Alondra III! I recently booked a trip with my family and friends, and we had an absolute blast, coming away with memories we will cherish forever.
We originally set out wanting to do some jigging, but the current was just too strong that day. Showing their deep experience, the crew quickly adapted and took us trolling instead, which was definitely the most productive method for the conditions. They worked incredibly hard to put us on the fish, and it paid off beautifully—we caught an amazing sailfish and two mahi mahi!
After the fishing action, they took us snorkeling in calm, crystal-clear water. It was spectacular; we swam alongside schools of vibrant tropical fish, a huge stingray, and even a sea turtle.
Once we got back to shore, the crew expertly filleted our catch for us. We took the fresh fish to a local restaurant where they prepared it in several different dishes, and everything was absolutely DELICIOUS. You can't get any fresher than that!
We ran into a minor issue with the payment at the end of the trip, but what really set this charter apart was how it was handled. As soon as I got home, I messaged Captain Isaias. He responded immediately and did everything in his power to remedy the situation. He didn't just resolve the issue; he went completely ABOVE and BEYOND to make things right and then some. His incredible customer service, understanding, and dedication to ensuring his guests have a perfect experience truly shines through.

Amazing Crew overall great experience

We had such an amazing experience on our fishing trip—truly 10/10 and something we would absolutely do again!
Going into it, I was a bit nervous about the weather and whether we'd even be able to go out, but the crew was incredible. They kept a close eye on the forecast for us and communicated clearly every step of the way. We ended up rebooking a few times based on their guidance, and they always prioritized safety while still trying to make it work for us. We really appreciated how patient and accommodating they were.
The directions to the boat were spot-on, even though there were lots of boats in the area. They stayed in contact and made it super easy to find them. They also gave us a heads-up about the seaweed we'd have to walk through, which was helpful. Once we got there, they actually got us out about 30 minutes early, set us up with water shoes and life jackets, and even had a cooler stocked with drinks.
Out on the water, the crew was efficient and professional, navigating everything smoothly—even while my kids were dramatically dealing with seasickness! When a storm started rolling in, they gave us the option to keep fishing or head back. We chose to head in for the kids, and sure enough, it started pouring rain on the way back—so we were grateful for their judgment and flexibility.
The whole experience felt safe, well-organized, and genuinely fun despite the weather challenges. The only thing I wish I'd known was to bring extra cash for a tip—I assumed there'd be an option on the card reader, so that was totally my oversight. Sorry about that!
Overall, an awesome experience with an amazing crew. Next time, we'll book earlier in our trip so we have more flexibility to pick the perfect weather day!

We had such an amazing experience on our fishing trip—truly 10/10 and something we would absolutely do again!
Going into it, I was a bit nervous about the weather and whether we'd even be able to go out, but the crew was incredible. They kept a close eye on the forecast for us and communicated clearly every step of the way. We ended up rebooking a few times based on their guidance, and they always prioritized safety while still trying to make it work for us. We really appreciated how patient and accommodating they were.
The directions to the boat were spot-on, even though there were lots of boats in the area. They stayed in contact and made it super easy to find them. They also gave us a heads-up about the seaweed we'd have to walk through, which was helpful. Once we got there, they actually got us out about 30 minutes early, set us up with water shoes and life jackets, and even had a cooler stocked with drinks.
Out on the water, the crew was efficient and professional, navigating everything smoothly—even while my kids were dramatically dealing with seasickness! When a storm started rolling in, they gave us the option to keep fishing or head back. We chose to head in for the kids, and sure enough, it started pouring rain on the way back—so we were grateful for their judgment and flexibility.
The whole experience felt safe, well-organized, and genuinely fun despite the weather challenges. The only thing I wish I'd known was to bring extra cash for a tip—I assumed there'd be an option on the card reader, so that was totally my oversight. Sorry about that!
Overall, an awesome experience with an amazing crew. Next time, we'll book earlier in our trip so we have more flexibility to pick the perfect weather day!
