Book your next trip with The Boat Sport Fishing and find out what the fishing in Playa Del Carmen is all about. Having logged many hours in these turquoise waters, our Captain will suggest what to target and can adjust these plans to ensure we're catering the trip to your desires.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Amberjack, Great Barracuda, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Trigger, Blacken Tuna, Red Grouper, Almaco Jack, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, and anything else that bites. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish. We match the appropriate tackle to the targeted fish to ensure an exciting battle.
Families who love fishing together will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard!
You'll be dropping lines from a 25' Yamaha panga with room for up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, tackle, drinks and music are covered by the charter, along with lures and bait. Live bait is used at times depending on what were targrting.
A First Mate is included on every trip. Tips are always appreciated, but never expected. Our first priority is your safety. A close second is your 100% satisfaction.
There's no need to buy a fishing license as it's included, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Feel free to drop us a line if you have any questions about what's in season or what we're likely to catch.
It's never a bad idea to bring, sunblock, sunglasses, and any snacks you like. There will be some beer and water onboard, but you’re always welcome to bring your own too.

Half Day Trip (PM)
Awesome fishing...and we caught a barracuda (well 3!)
My son (12) and I enjoyed an afternoon fishing. The captain and his mate were helpful and fun. We had to be patient as it took time to catch our first fish. But my son helped land a large barracuda which made our trip worthwhile. I caught a smaller barracuda and we then went hunting for red snapper and caught a couple of lovely examples. I also caught a number of beers from the deepest depths of the onbaord yeti. The captain then dropped us directly at our hotel which was a mile from the meetup point...which made things extreme convenient. There is the option to have a local restaurant cook up your catch, but this was closed on Monday. Overall we had a great experience and would recommend.

Barracuda day
Can't say enough about todays fishing trip. The boat team were amazing 🔥 The captain explained everything and the team were friendly, very welcoming and Daniels English made everything so easy -they werr extremely informative, communicated well and accomodating. They tried a number of techniques to ensure we landed the fish, from catching a trigger fish, to a beast of a Barracuda. Our 13 year old described today as the best day ever. Thank you at #theboatsportfishing for the best day.

3/4 Day Trip
Couldn't have asked for a better trip
We were here in the offseason and yet still couldn't have asked for a better trip. The captain and his mate were absolutely incredible and so kind. Within 5 minutes out of the harbor and lines down we were already hooked into a beautiful Mahi. Got two more mahi, two trophy sized barracuda and even hooked into a beautiful Spanish Mackerel. When we got back at the end of the day the captain made us fresh ceviche on the beach out of our mahi and it was the absolute best I've had in my life. I'd recommend these gentlemen to anyone looking for a fantastic day on the water with a couple of great gentlemen!!

Full Day Trip
Great full day of fishing/snorkeling
Jovaney and Daniel did a great job. We started with some trolling and caught 2 good size mahi. Took a ride to go see the sea turtle and star fish on the reef. Major win with the kids. They made us fresh ceviche and shishimi with fresh fruit fir lunch. Tried a little bit for trigger fish but they weren't cooperating. Went back to trolling and caught 2 more mahi. These guys definitely know what they are doing, speak very good English and most importantly for me they were great with the kids. I would also suggest setting up any transportation with them as its cheaper and more convenient. Thanks for the great trip guys.

3/4 Day Trip
What a great day!
My son and I joined some family friends for this excursion, and we had a brilliant day of fishing. We ended up catching an Amberjack each - kept one huge one and had it cooked by a local restaurant. Amazing. I ended up catching a Sailfish too, which was an awesome surprise and was a highlight. Our guides were fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating of my son's desired fishing styles. We also caught a triggerfish and they prepared ceviche on the boat. It was perhaps the best I've ever had. Boat had plenty of shade, a well-stocked cooler and nice gear. Highly recommended.
