Fish On – Lake Oologah
Join Fish On for an exciting day in Oklahoma’s lakes! Captain David Clark is very passionate about fishing and the love for it goes without saying for him. Jokingly, he says: “If you need a reason to go fishing, we cannot be friends.” With him as your guide, you won’t just have fun fishing – you’ll also experience what being on the water really means.
Your day on the water starts at Allen’s Landing Point Drive, where you’ll meet the captain and come aboard his 25’ Wille Boat. This bay boat is powered by a 200 HP Yamaha engine that can reach a maximum speed of 30 knots, allowing you to move very quickly and find the best fishing spots. The boat accommodates up to 4 guests but it’s also possible to bring your kid as an additional, 5th person. Capt. David has life vests for them, too.
Lake Oologah is perfect for chasing Catfish and Paddlefish, so those will be your main targets. When catching Catfish, you’ll mostly use shad as live bait, which the captain will prepare in advance. For Paddlefish, trolling is the way to go, while moving slowly at the speed of 4 mph.
You’ll be happy to know that you can keep your catch and Capt. David will clean and fillet it for you after the trip. You’ll enjoy the fruits of your labor long after you disembark, as you relish that tasty meal. You’ll need to purchase your fishing license in advance and also bring some snacks and drinks for the day. Capt. David will provide your fishing equipment.
Your captain’s guarantee to you is that he’ll do everything he can to catch fish. You just need to choose when you want to go.
