Wind Knot Guides - Seattle Salmon Charters
Based just 5 miles from downtown Seattle, a Wind Knot Salmon Guide Puget Sound fishing charter will make you feel like you’re on another planet. Come and explore the riches of the Puget Sound, where you’ll sail across the bays against stunning backdrops doing battle against one of the Pacific Northwest's most prized fish – Salmon. During July and August there is a great chance to land a Shark!
Step aboard the premium 25’ Grady White Center Console Fisherman 236 and see for yourself! This vessel can cater to up to 5 anglers and features state of the art Simrad radar, chart plotter and fish finder. We are proud to maintain the fleets cleanest, modern boats. If needed, we offer FREE Grunden's rain gear use during June-Nov! Family owned and operated charter business. WE captain the boat, not a seasonal captain.
Most charter boats on Puget Sound troll. When targeting Chinook Salmon, we do not so keep that in mind when choosing the right charter experience for you. Using light gear, you’ll “mooch” the waters with fresh or frozen bait while drifting with the motor off. This style of fishing is suited best for anglers who prefer to have a rod in hand rather than watch rods and share turns. If you want to work the bait and feel the bite, drift fishing is for you. We DO troll with downriggers for Coho Salmon in late August and September.
The Puget Sound is a highly managed fishery and many fish caught must be released. All seasons are set by the Washington Fish and Game. Customers without a Washington fishing license can buy a one-day license and catch card from Capt. David on the boat. Licenses are $13.73. If you only need a one-day license this is the best option. You can also buy license on the States website.

our family came down from northern Alberta Canada for a vacation to watch a seahawks game and so some last of the season fishing. We met captain David and he took us out for the afternoon. My youngest 10 yr old son had really gotten into fishing the last few years and we have not been ocean fishing before. Captin David did not disappoint, we caught every fish we could that was availbe that time of season and my sons highlight was being able to catch sharks that were not supposed to be around that late in the season. He was pumped and talked about it all night. definitely the highlight of our trip and something our son will never forget! thanks Captin David for the family memories! we will definitely be back!
Thanks for the inspiring words! What a fun trip! Your son is definitely a focused fisherman! he never stopped!
My 11 year old and I had a blast! Coming from Texas, we didn't know what to expect. I chose Capt Dave because I wanted my son to learn different techniques on how to fish, and not just troll fishing. Capt Dave was very clear and patient with my son. We caught all morning long! Capt stayed on the fish the whole time. Would definitely recommend and would definitely book again! Thanks Capt Dave for the trip of a lifetime!
Trip of a lifetime is our goal! While we can’t control the bite we do our best to find the fish! I’m glad your son had a blast on our Puget Sound Fishing charter!
Captain Dave made the day enjoyable! He was knowledgeable and patient with our lack of experience. The boat was a perfect size for 5 of us and we left with enough crab for dinner. I definitely recommend!
Yolanda I’m so glad your family enjoyed the catch and release Chinook Salmon fishing on on Puget Sound! Crab bonus is always fun!
My 13 year old son and I had a terrific experience with Captain Dave. We are by no means experienced fisherman and caught a ton of fish. It is obvious that Captain Dave has a great deal of knowledge and experience in the area. We will absolutely book with Captain Dave again in the future.
Thanks Ben! I had a great time with you on our evening fishing charter!
we caught 8-10 coho salmon and 4 dog sharks. Salmon fishing has a little nuance to it and our Captain guided us well.
