Wind Knot Guides - Seattle Drift Fishing
Based just 5 miles from downtown Seattle, a Wind Knot Salmon Guide Puget Sound fishing charter will make you feel like you're on another planet. Come and explore the riches of the Puget Sound, where you'll sail across the bays against stunning backdrops doing battle against one of the Pacific Northwest's most prized fish – Salmon. During July and August there is a great chance to land a Shark!
Step aboard the premium 25' Grady White Center Console Fisherman 236 and see for yourself! This vessel can cater to up to 6 anglers and features state of the art Simrad radar, chart plotter and fish finder. We are proud to maintain the fleets cleanest, modern boats. If needed, we offer FREE Grunden's rain gear use during Sept-Nov! Family owned and operated charter business. WE captain the boat, not a seasonal captain.
Most charter boats on Puget Sound troll. When targeting Chinook Salmon, we typically do not so keep that in mind when choosing the right charter experience for you. Using light gear, you'll 'mooch' the waters with fresh or frozen bait while drifting with the motor off. This style of fishing is suited best for anglers who prefer to have a rod in hand rather than watch rods and share turns. We DO troll with downriggers for Coho Salmon in late August and September.
If a shared charter is booked for 2 people and no other guests join you will have the private boat for 4hrs instead of a 5hr shared charter at no additional cost.
Customers without a Washington fishing license can buy a one-day license and catch card from Capt. David on the boat. Licenses are $13.73. If you only need a one-day license this is the best option. If you buy a license from the state, please remember a printed catch card is required to be in your possession.

our family came down from northern Alberta Canada for a vacation to watch a seahawks game and so some last of the season fishing. We met captain David and he took us out for the afternoon. My youngest 10 yr old son had really gotten into fishing the last few years and we have not been ocean fishing before. Captin David did not disappoint, we caught every fish we could that was availbe that time of season and my sons highlight was being able to catch sharks that were not supposed to be around that late in the season. He was pumped and talked about it all night. definitely the highlight of our trip and something our son will never forget! thanks Captin David for the family memories! we will definitely be back!
Thanks for the inspiring words! What a fun trip! Your son is definitely a focused fisherman! he never stopped!
Appreciated the opportunity to actually fish with a rod and reel rather than sitting back and using a down rigger. Clean boat. Great equipment. Caught several fish but sadly none were allowed to be kept. Tried for coho but no-go. Maybe next time !
Captain Dave is an A+ captain who cares about safety, fishing instruction and tackle familiarity. We (myself, daughter and her boyfriend) chartered the early morning excursion and it was worth the money! We caught various salmon, including 2 wild Salmon that we let go, shark and 2 beautiful fillets for my daughter's freezer! I highly recommend Captain Dave. He is professional, extremely prepared for and charter and maintains a refreshing combination of guiding and letting you learn! Outstanding Day!
I had a great time getting those chinook in the net!
Captain was super knowledgeable and pleasant to be around. Had made sure we had the best possible chance to catch fish. Will definitely use him again in the future.
Thanks for the kind words and good job releasing that Chinook!
First time fishing in Washington and would highly recommend. First line we dropped were already catching. We were catching the entire 6 hours we booked.
