Captain Ritchy and his crew have a lifetime of experience fishing on the Chesapeake Bay. They use the most advanced techniques to give you the best opportunity to fill the boat. They're committed to ensuring a fun experience for any type of angler, so hop aboard and make the most of these world-famous waters.
The 'Dana-Kat' is a 40' Mabry downeast boat. Completely refurbished in 2018, she offers maximum comfort. She boasts a spacious air-conditioned and heated cabin, along with top-of-the-line electronics. Up to 6 passengers can make themselves at home as you utilize the restroom, bunk, and working kitchen.
All trips come with top of the line fishing equipment including Shimano and Penn rods and reels. Everything you need, including fishing licenses, is included except food and drinks, just bring those and make the most of your day on the water.
Troll from the downriggers or bottom fish, jig and drift fish, as you seek to entice the bite of some highly-prized fish. Expect an intense battle to land some monster species, as you go after Rockfish, Bluefish, Perch, Mackerel, Drum, and many more.
At the end of the trip, your catch will be filleted and packaged by the first mate. He'll work hard before, during, and after the trip, so gratuity is expected.

Weather had been rainy leading up to trip, forecast for trip day was good weather- unfortunately windy, choppy, couldn’t anchor and water cold where we went. Capt should have cancelled or found alternate spots rather than sticking with standard spots and hoping drifting or trolling would work. Only bite/catch was a piece of garbage bag. Expensive sightseeing trip.
Unfortunately the wind picked up at the last minute and it was too late to cancel and with the restricted fishing area that was available to fish we didn't have many options. We always want to make our clients happy and I wish things would have worked out better for the both of us.
We had a really fun fishing trip with Captain Ritchy and first mate Matt! The boat was spacious for our family of 5, with plenty of room in the cabin and canopy to get a break from the sun/rain as needed. We did the 6-hour morning trip into the Chesapeake bay, starting with trying to catch striped bass. They weren't biting, so we moved up river and there we caught lots of perch, catfish, spot, and even a few oysters. Matt was super helpful and friendly with the kids, baiting the hooks and removing the fish when they started rolling in. Captain Ritchy found the fish and expertly anticipated the storm that rolled in, getting us back to the dock before the worst of it hit. Matt cleaned the fish for us and we had a delicious fish fry at home that night, the perch and catfish were very tasty.

Capt Ritchy and crew did a great job. It was the first time out for most of our group but we were still able to fill our striped bass limit for the day.

Went out in the morning. This is our second time doing this trip, 2 years in a row. The captain and his mate do an awesome job helping and finding the fish. We casted for rockfish and caught our limit in an hour, plus some that had to go back. We will go again next year.
