Being a long time Florida Keys resident and gaining the knowledge and know how, Capt. Galon and the Go Time are sure to show you a great time out on the pristine waters of Islamorada.
Whether you want to catch yellowtails on the Reef or head Offshore for that trophy fish to put on the wall, Captain Galon will put you on the fish!

Capt. Galon is also the designer and inventor of the patented flying fish lure, Islamorada Flyers, which was locally created and is handmade in the USA!
Go Time Charters offers Half Day, 3/4 Day and Full Day private fishing charters out to the local reefs/wrecks and offshore for larger pelagic species.
Depending on the trip or customer's wishes, the captain will target a wide variety of species available in the local waters. You may want to target Mahi or Tuna, possibly try your hand in many of the Snapper species in the Keys or bottom fish for Red or Black Grouper. If you'd like to enjoy your daily catch for dinner, Capt. Galon will be happy to clean and fillet it for you free of charge.
Onboard, you'll also find a large cooler with plenty of room to store all your snacks and drinks to keep yourself energized through all the fishing! Capt. Galon's boat is conveniently located at Robbie's Marina in Islamorada.
The last thing to remember is to bring your sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and camera!

Had an absolute blast on the trip with Captain Galon… It was my son and I and not only did we catch fish, but he was awesome to fish and hang out with… if you’re looking for a charter where the captain of the boat makes you feel comfortable and he really enjoys fishing and helping you catch different types of fish with different fishing techniques, then he is the one to use. Would highly recommend !!!

my husband and I are in our mid 60s and had the most amazing experience with Captain Galen. The location was easy to find. He was so kind and patient with us. We had been deep sea fishing before, but this time we tried ref fishing and caught a ton of fish, edible and some good sport fish. When we got back to the dock captain took pictures of us with our catch and then filets and bagged the on the ice and we were able to take to a local restaurant for lunch. p.s. don’t bring bananas on the boat. restaurant and enjoy for lunch

We had an awesome time!! Captain Galon was so kind, polite, helpful and communicated very well! He made us feel very welcome an answered all of our questions! We’ve been on trips before with captains that are jerks and treat you like you’re a dumb tourist. Galon was perfect! Would highly recommend Go Time we got a ton of fish. It was a meat haul!

Can’t speak highly enough of captain galon! Great communication and very responsive leading up to and the morning of the charter. Hit our blackfin limit and moved on to Mahi. None of us on the boat have ever had the experience of having three Mahi on lines simultaneously while also seeing more for the taking in the water. This captain puts in the work, and is a quality guy, we will be coming back, although it would be hard to top the day we just had!

We cannot express how pleased we were with our outing! The day we went it was tough fishing and Galon worked hard to put us on some fish and it paid off. My wife and I had a blast reeling in fish after fish! Galon was by and far the best fishing guide we’ve ever had. He was experienced, knowledgeable, and very passionate about his work. From boarding the boat to cleaning the fish there’s not one thing we would change about our trip!

Captain Galon H. Johnson is originally from Jackson, Tennessee. He received his first fishing license on the day he was born, he was born with the heart of a fisherman and saltwater in his veins! He has been fishing his entire life, from freshwater rivers and lakes in Tennessee, to the crystal clear waters of the Florida Keys. After reconnecting with an old friend from back home, Captain Galon decided to embark on an adventure and move to the beautiful Florida Keys! Captain Galon moved to Islamorada and starting working as a mate on the Capt. Michael Party Fishing Boat out of Robbie's Marina. After learning from some of the best Captains and Mates in the Keys about the different locations, Captain Galon decided to get his Captains License and head offshore! After spending many years working as a Mate and a Captain, he has gained the knowledge and experience to show you why Islamorada is known as the 'Sportfishing Capital of the World'! Fast forward to today, Capt. Galon is still enjoying his passion for showing anglers of all ages how to fish the Florida Keys.
