I booked this charter for my Husbands birthday. This was such an amazing experience! Captain Matt was on top of everything, making sure our lines were at the depth we needed to catch the ling cod, and checking frequently, making sure we weren’t too close to the other boats. When we were in an area where there were no bites Captain Matt would take us to a new location.  Captain Matt was always monitoring his depth finder for fish and as soon as he told us “we are right over the fish” they started biting! My husband and I both caught back to back Ling Cod, we caught three in all but one was too big to keep! I did get some amazing pictures of it though! As if this day wasn’t perfect enough on our way back in we saw a couple of Orcas swimming around! The day was wet and cold but the memories of this day were so worth it!  My husband just kept saying what a great birthday gift it was🙂 we look forward to going on another fishing trip with this charter in the future!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the Messin’ Around charter! From the time the first lures were cast, we had fish on the line within seconds. We caught so many fish that we lost count. We set out to just fish without worrying about whether we took anything back or not and had so much fun this way. The fish were abundant, captain was skilled, nice & a great host. I’m someone who gets sunburned easily and was thrilled about all of the shade on the boat. Would absolutely book with Captain Messing again!

I bought this trip for my sister and brother-in-law. They had to reschedule the appointment because of my nephew but the captain was very understanding and flexible. When they did go, they had so much fun and both brought home salmon. It was a date they dreamed of!

Matt is knowledgeable and experienced and also a nice chill guy. Not overly peppy and chatty but also happy to make conversation with us when we wanted to. He got us to the fish, his fishing gear was in good condition and easy to use, and he worked the bait and lures throughout the trip to improve our chances. Left and returned on time, expertly filleted the salmon for us. We would recommend this charter.

Mathew took my 76 yr old father (an avid pier fisher), my partner and I on a charter trip. My father has a physical disability and needs to be transported by a wheelchair but Mathew was very patient and able to accommodate us despite the circumstance. We caught and kept 4 cohos and caught an early season chinook which we released. Would definitely recommend Mathew and his services for your family outings!
