Sport Fishing Arantza
Get ready to discover a whole new world off the coast of Playa del Carmen with Sport Fishing Arantza! Captain Benjamin Araujo and his crew put work into every trip as if it was their last. That means you and your family get to enjoy a top-notch sportfishing experience with a dedicated team of anglers that will do everything to put you on monster fish.
Your journey will take place on a 26’ Panga center console, fully outfitted with all the amenities you need for a successful day on the water. She comes with a fishfinder, outriggers, state-of-the-art Penn tackle, and snorkeling equipment if you want to take a dip and go for a swim.
You’ll have a bimini cover so you can stay cool while you fish and an icebox to store your food and beverages. The boat accommodates up to 6 guests, and kids of all ages are welcome aboard.
Capt. Benjamin will take you trolling for some of the biggest fish you’ve ever seen. You’ll have a chance to target White and Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Barracuda, Kingfish, Wahoo, and more. You’ll also have an opportunity to bottom fish for species such as Amberjack, Triggerfish, Ray, and delicious Grouper, just to name a few.
Whether you’re looking for a fun day of fishing and snorkeling or an action-packed adventure, trolling for big pelagics, you’ll be taken care of based on your preferences. The crew will also offer to clean and fillet your catch so that you have something to show for all the hard work you put in during the trip.
Your fishing license is already taken care of as well, so just arrive 30 minutes early, pack sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses, and feel free to bring snacks and drinks. The captain will supply water, soda, fruit for the children, and ingredients for a ceviche if you request in advance.

Fun trip!
We knew this wasn’t the best season to fish but that’s why it’s called “fishing” not “catching“. This was perfect for a quick trip at a very reasonable price. Lots of sargassum to deal with but the crew worked there butts of to keep the bait rigs clean. We will definitely book another trip when we come back to Playa del Carmen. And yes, we did catch fish!

Very happy!
We (two adults, two kids aged 9 and 11) did a half-way trip with Sport Fishing Arantza. The captain and first mate did not really speak English, and we barely speak Spanish, but despite that, communication worked out quite well. The guys did a good job entertaining our kids as well, let them steer the boat and suggesting we make a stopover at a cenote nearby. We also caught a 1-meter Mahi-mahi, so my husband was happy!

Amazing morning
We had an amazing time fishing . My husband is still talking about it . The crew were very knowledgeable and accommodating . Our friend got sea sick but she toughed it out while the guys fished . Would highly recommend this crew and will definitely be back . We caught so many fish we lost count .

Family fishing tip
Went fishing with the whole family (kids 9 & 12 years old). Requested for great barracuda and some snorkeling and got both! Before heading back we also tried bottom fishing and got a lot of fish. This activity was very appreciated by the kids! Good to know that the crew did not speak a lot of english, although it didn’t bother us, they were nice.
