Captain Jon from Reel Attack Charters invites you to book one of his many charters he offers in beautiful Islamorada, the “Fishing Capital of the World.” The possibilities are endless with the great variety of fishing opportunities that are targeted. Captain Jon will take you to where the fish are.

Your captain is proud to offer many different fishing techniques on his 2016 Ranger bay boat. This boat is big enough for serious anglers to fight the “big ones” or bring the family on a day of fun for all. This 22’ vessel is equipped with all the latest technology for finding the fish, and capability to keep your catch fresh until you get back to the dock. Upon returning, Captain Jon will fillet your freshly caught fish for you and recommend a great restaurant to enjoy your catch!

Captain Jon offers Daytime/Nighttime Shark fishing and his personal favorite – Nighttime Tarpon Trip! On the Tarpon trips, you will pull in some monsters weighing in at anywhere from 120 to 150 pounds, with many fish a year topping 150 pounds. Using strictly live bait and light tackle, you are in for the battle of a lifetime!

You can also go reef fishing and catch Snapper, Hogfish, Grouper, Mackerel, Barracuda, Sharks, and many others. Gulf fishing will hook you Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Sharks, Goliath Grouper, etc. If you want to do some backcountry fishing, Captain Jon will put you on some Redfish, Snook, Speckled Seatrout, Permit, Mangrove Snapper, Shark, and Tarpon.

Get ready for an incredible experience

Half Day (PM) - Backcountry Trip on November 13, 2025 • 2 adults

My son and I had an absolute blast with Captain Jon: probably one of the best guided trips we have ever taken anywhere! He had us into fish within minutes, and it was practically nonstop catching for the next four hours. Jon’s knowledge of the local waters is absolutely top-notch, and he’s a fun guy to spend several hours with, too. We highly, highly recommend him if you are looking for a great guide and a remarkable Islamorada/Keys fishing experience.

Great Experience Fishing

Half Day (AM) – Shark Trip on August 7, 2025 • 4 adults

Jon is amazing as a fishing guide. From the initial interaction to the end of the fishing trip. He did not disappoint us. We initially went for shark, but they just were not hitting with the bad weather. We moved to another area and we caught a dozen mangrove snappers, lane snappers, mutton snappers and others. Took a bunch with us for lunch and went to a wonderful restaurant, that Jon recommended, and had them for lunch. Jon knows a lot about the fishing in the keys and really educated us. He’s extremely friendly and perfect for all anglers, from novice to the experienced anglers. We will be back to for another excursion with him soon. Just make sure you bring an extra large cooler for your catch!

Full Day – Shark Trip on May 27, 2025 • 2 adults

I can’t say enough how awesome our experience was with Captain Jon! He attended to our every need and his primary goal was to make sure my daughter was comfortable, catching fish and having a fantastic day making amazing memories. We did the full day shark fishing trip and my daughter told me she wasn’t going home from vacation until she caught a shark. Captain Jon took us to the perfect spot and in the first 2 hours she caught 2 huge nurse sharks which made our trip that much more memorable! In total we caught a total of 5 Nurse Sharks ranging 6-7’ long weighing between 175-225 lbs. He also took us to another spot to catch enough fish to have for dinner that night. We caught 11 different species of fish on this trip. Captain Jon gave us memories that will last a life time! I can’t thank him enough and we will definitely be using Reel Attack again in the future.

Awesome with kids

My 10yr son, 13yr daughter with only freshwater experience and I booked a trip with Captain Jon, the owner and sole operator of the company. I was worried that they would get bored or mess something up or would be a burden to a charter Captain. I spoke to Captain Jon beforehand and he eased my fears, he also has a child their ages; so he knows the struggle. Being a father I wanted to put my pole down and help the kids bait or take off a fish, but Captain Jon always stepped in and took charge never wanting me to stop catching fish; he legit took care of them never loosing patience. He also doubles as a photographer! We fished the Gulf, and caught well over 35 fish (12 different species) with 19 keepers. When we come back down from Jersey without a doubt we will book with Jon again!
