Captain Jon from Reel Attack Charters invites you to book one of his many charters he offers in beautiful Islamorada, the “Fishing Capital of the World.” The possibilities are endless with the great variety of fishing opportunities that are targeted. Captain Jon will take you to where the fish are.
Your captain is proud to offer many different fishing techniques on his 2016 Ranger bay boat. This boat is big enough for serious anglers to fight the “big ones” or bring the family on a day of fun for all. This 22’ vessel is equipped with all the latest technology for finding the fish, and capability to keep your catch fresh until you get back to the dock. Upon returning, Captain Jon will fillet your freshly caught fish for you and recommend a great restaurant to enjoy your catch!
Captain Jon offers Daytime/Nighttime Shark fishing and his personal favorite – Nighttime Tarpon Trip! On the Tarpon trips, you will pull in some monsters weighing in at anywhere from 120 to 150 pounds, with many fish a year topping 150 pounds. Using strictly live bait and light tackle, you are in for the battle of a lifetime!
You can also go reef fishing and catch Snapper, Hogfish, Grouper, Mackerel, Barracuda, Sharks, and many others. Gulf fishing will hook you Spanish Mackerel, Cobia, Sharks, Goliath Grouper, etc. If you want to do some backcountry fishing, Captain Jon will put you on some Redfish, Snook, Speckled Seatrout, Permit, Mangrove Snapper, Shark, and Tarpon.

Great Experience Fishing
Half Day (AM) – Shark Trip on August 7, 2025 • 4 adults
Jon is amazing as a fishing guide. From the initial interaction to the end of the fishing trip. He did not disappoint us. We initially went for shark, but they just were not hitting with the bad weather. We moved to another area and we caught a dozen mangrove snappers, lane snappers, mutton snappers and others. Took a bunch with us for lunch and went to a wonderful restaurant, that Jon recommended, and had them for lunch.
Jon knows a lot about the fishing in the keys and really educated us. He’s extremely friendly and perfect for all anglers, from novice to the experienced anglers.
We will be back to for another excursion with him soon.
Just make sure you bring an extra large cooler for your catch!

Fishing trip Gulf of Mexico 3/4 day for kingfish and barracuda

Jon knows his job, he is a fine man and is was fun fishing with him. He helped us the whole trip and put us on fish.
Me and my 14 y old son had a great time.
Although this trip was great fun it didn’t meet my expectations. We booked a Gulf of Mexico trip to catch kingfish and barracuda, unfortunally we stayed close to shore and caught smaller fish. To be honest, for me this was dissapointing. If I wanted to fish for smaller fish I booked 1/2 day and not for 3/4 day.
Maybe this was a misunderstanding?
Jon invited me to go fishing for tarpon next time. I certainly will do that in a couple of years because I’m sure he
knows his job and I can only recommend him and it’s fun fishing with him.

Captain Jon is amazing. Took my 2 sons with me on a half day trip AM. we caught so many fish and a bunch of new species for the boys. captain Jon knew where the fish were biting. other joined our location later but even then we were pulling in way more than them. Great experience looking forward to booking with him again next year.

Fantastic Day Out

Jon is a fantastic guide who absolutely knows his stuff. We had a blast during our 3/4 day trip and caught way more than we were expecting - at least a dozen different species and hitting our limit real fast. In addition, Jon’s a great personality, super friendly and relatable. Will be back soon.

There is a reason Capt Jon is a 5 star charter. We lost count of the amount of fish early in the morning and maybe 12+ different species were caught which really makes the day exciting. Outside of that you are fishing with the best around and more importantly he is fun to hang out with. We will be back!
