RiverTrek NW is gearing up for a fantastic Columbia River King season! Salmon fishing in the Columbia River is without a question one of the biggest angling attractions in Oregon. From Astoria to Cascade Locks, this area is well-known for its abundance of King and Coho Salmon. Captain Wade Grant will track and follow these fish, making sure you have the best opportunity to reel in some prized catch.

Your trip will start on a 26' River Wild aluminum fishing boat that can accommodate up to 6 guests. It's powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine that can reach a maximum cruising speed of 50 knots. For navigation, the boat uses all the modern GPS, autopilot, a fishfinder, and technology that will help you stay safe and on the right track throughout your trip.

Fishing the rivers of the Portland area will give you an excellent chance to catch Spring Chinook, Summer Chinook Salmon, as well as Columbia River Fall King and the prized Upriver Bright. You and Capt. Wade will chase these challenging fish on light tackle by trolling and drift fishing. You'll get to keep your catch and take it home for a delicious dinner.

Capt. Wade will provide you with all the rods, reels, bait and tackle. He can also clean and fillet your catch at no extra cost. Just make sure to bring your fishing licenses and lunch before you arrive on the boat.

Come aboard and have a great fishing trip with RiverTrek NW!

Monster Sturgeons
Full Day Trip – Half & Half on March 15, 20263 adults

Captain Wade was fantastic. We booked a trip for half salmon and half sturgeon on march 15. While is was a cold morning and the salmon didn't bite (there was a big rainstorm 2 days before and murky water, we didn't expect salmon to bite), captain Wade made sure we got a great experience on the Sturgeon! we caught easily 30 of them and some were too big to get in the boat but worth the long fight! Highly recommend booking with Captain Wade, he is highly knowledgeable about the river, angling, and the best spots to catch different fiah!

No Salmon, But Still a Great Trip!
Columbia River Salmon (shared boat) on April 19, 20262 adults

Captain Wade was terrific, and the boat and equipment were excellent. we didn’t catch any salmon this time, but after we had been trying for 4 hours or so, Wade suggested that we try some catch and release sturgeon fishing. It was so much fun, and my 13 year-old son will remember it for years to come!

Captain Wade
Full Day Trip – Half & Half on October 5, 20252 adults

Captain Wade was the best. I caught 1 fish and had to turn it back because it was a native, but it wasn’t for the lack of trying on the captains end he did everything he could to find us fish. We had a great time! We will be booking another trip earlier in the season with Captain Wade next year. I wouldn’t want another captain.

Best of the Best
Columbia River Salmon (shared boat) on October 1, 20254 adults

We booked our trip with Captain Wade to find some end of season coho, but alas the fish gods were not smiling. Wade knew just where to rally though and we had an absolute blast catching sturgeon. His boat was so clean and his knowledge and warm demeanor really made the trip :) highly recommend

Response from Captain

My Dad and Grandpa got me hooked on this life when I was about 6 years old. I've been fishing the Northwest rivers and ocean ever since! I love sharing my experience, stories, and excitement with all of my clients. My favorite thing is probably seeing the smile on a client's face when they hook into their first big fish... and there is nothing better than hearing a kid say... 'got one!'
