Burton lll Sport Fishing offers a perfect way to experience the highlight of your vacation. Join Captain Mario, a 3rd generation fisherman, who’s been catching fish in the area since he was only 4 years old. For years, he has been showing these waters to other people, teaching them different ways to get to their trophy, and helping them to enjoy their day to the max. Now it’s time for you to experience the same.

It all starts on a 28’ Nava boat that accommodates up to 4 guests. This center console is powered by twin 60 HP Mercury engines and reaches the speed of 26 knots. The boat features everything you’ll need for a successful day on the water, such as a fighting chair, a live bait tank, outriggers, and navigational electronics. For more comfort, there’s also a private toilet.

The trips range from short inshore tours to full day big game adventures. You can go after Jack Crevalle, Snapper, Roosterfish, and Mackerel, or take a challenge and target Mahi Mahi, Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Barracuda, and many more. If fishing is not the only thing you want to do, there’s also an option to combine it with snorkeling and island hopping.

It’s very easy to get ready for your trip - just pack some food and sun protection. Everything else is covered by the crew, including your fishing licenses, equipment, and bottled water. The crew will also clean your catch after the trip, so feel free to bring your cooler.

Great day fishing

6 hours fishing snorkel beach on December 1, 2025 • 2 adults

We booked the six hour tour fish, snorkel, beach. The weather was great and the crew was super experienced. The boat was very well maintained and stocked. We basically relied on the crew for fishing advice as we are novice ocean fishing people. They got on a school of rooster fish and we nailed three of them in the first ten minutes. The crew constantly swapped out gear to maximize the potential to land fish. We really enjoyed the boat ride and saw mantas jumping as well as humpbacks breaching. The day went by quickly but we did land some skipjacks around noon. Overall a very memorable day. We will be back and highly recommend Burton lll fishing for your next adventure. Thank you Captain Mario and first mate Alex.

Kickass fishing trip!

We had an excellent time with Cpt Mario! Not only was it our group's first time in Puerto Vallarta, but also our first time fishing off a boat in open water. Cpt Mario had basically everything we needed other than whatever drinks/snacks we wanted to bring. He helped us set up the rods to catch live bait, and then further set up the larger rigs to use the live bait on. We hooked a huge sailfish that gave a huge jumping fight, but it got away while reeling in. We landed several Skipjack Tuna big enough to keep, and they helped us clean the fish on board before heading back to dock. Our day was great, it was easy to find the boat at the docks, the crew was awesome- the whole experience was great! 10/10, would recommend 👌

Great trip! Great crew!

I spoke to Captain Mario before the trip and asked that we not troll. He was very accommodating to our request! We spent the first part of the trip chasing birds (my favorite way to fish)! We then went closer to shore to find schooling roosterfish. We caught Jack Crevalle, Skip Jack, Bonito, and roosterfish. The boat was very comfortable and clean. First Mate Alex was extremely helpful and always right there when needed. Overall it was a great experience and I would highly recommend Burton III Sport Fishing to anyone going to Puerto Vallarta.

Was a fantastic trip that started a little rough, it had rained real heavy the night before and taxi couldn't get us to the sight beause of flooded roads. Captain Mario ask where we was at and got his boat over to where we was. Off fishing we went and both him and deckhand kept us busy catching bait till we hadenough go for biggger fish witch we hooked up with a 7' plus sailfish. it took around a hour and a half to land. Captaain Mario knowledge to get us into fish was great. Would highly recommend!!!

4 Hour Fishing excursion was FANTASTIC !!! 5 Stars!!

We caught Jack Caravelle about 35 pounds and 9 other fish about 4-5 pounds each. East to find, easy to to contact Captain Mario ,Alex was our co captain not sure what his correct title is but he was great . They moved until we found fish and helped when I needed help. I highly recommend this Captain. Water was smooth and ride was enjoyable in the early morning hour and we saw several sea turtles! 5 Stars!!!!!! Oh and the large iguanas are beautiful !
