Captain Wood put us on the fish early.  Several beautiful oversized Specs went back, but we also caught our limit of keeper mostly 18-19 inches.  We went looking for reds, bite was slow but we landed 3 keepers, 20, 24, and 27.5 inches.  Add a bonus black drum and a sand trout.  Captain Wood is a true professional with great demeanor.  Fun pleasant experience.

Capt John is very professional. He knows the water & is very patient . He has a nice boat & equipment. He is very concerned about his guests constantly provided insight regarding different types & techniques of fishing presentations. Very enjoyable day overnight. We highly recommend Capt. John took my wife and I out for a fishing trip this morning. He took us straight to a spot in the morning where we were able to catch a limit of trout. After that he brought us to various spots in the bay that we were able to catch a few redfish. He fished north of rockport in a bay system with much less boat traffic. Very pretty. Joy was very friendly and helped my wife with several things. Nice boat, good guide would recommend

Super awesome trip! We limited out on speckled trout pretty early. We told him we wanted to try to catch some Redfish and we sure tried, but it seemed like they just weren’t hungry. He put us right on lots of fish, they just were biting as it got later in the day. He was super knowledgeable on the area and just fishing period. Super great experience! No complaints! Will definitely book with him again if we are in the area!

Captain John was outstanding. I had told him beforehand that my 14 year old grandson was really interested in catching redfish. Although we were catching black drum at two different spots, Captain John kept moving until he found a spot where the red’s were biting. My grandson ended up with a 28” redfish!! It was a perfect day - we strongly recommend Captain John and look forward to fishing with him in the future!
