Captain John Wood is a cordial and skilled angler who’ll see that you have a great time on the water and return home with a respectable catch. Join him on the inshore waters around Rockport and have a memorable fishing experience you’ll certainly wish to relive!
You’ll fish from a 24’ Haynie bay boat that can sit up to 4 anglers and runs on a 225 HP Mercury engine. It uses modern GPS technology as well as a radar for effective navigation and is equipped with a livewell to supply you with livebait.
The species you can target include Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, and Redfish. You and Captain John will try to catch them using light tackle and you’re free to keep all the fish you catch and take it home. If you wish to bring kids on your trip, feel free to do so. They always make the atmosphere on board more fun and they may easily love the marine world.
All the rods, reels, terminal tackle, live bait, and lures will be ready for you when you arrive, and the captain will also clean and fillet your catch if you want him to. What you should bring on your trip are only your fishing licenses and the food and drinks of your choice.

PERFECT DAY!!

Capt John is an excellent guide. I have been on 3 dozen guided trips in north America and John was one of the best we have had. Friendly, knowledgeable, and he put us on fish right away. He was also at the ramp waiting for us 100% ready to go. We parked the truck. jumped on the boat, and took off immediately.
We will be back to fish with Capt. John again.

Great communication and directions to find the wharf, everyone in the group had a great time and John was patient with our amateur fishing skills. This is the first salt water fishing for our grandson. It ended up he was the winer among four of us. He limited out his trouts, he got a lady fish, a baby shark, some cat fish, and a crab! He was so excited! Captain John helped a lot for the little boy. We are very grateful that captain John made our grandson’s first ever fishing trip very memorable!

Amazing Trip, Limits on Red and Black Drum

We had an absolutely amazing trip with John. we were immediately put on the fish and had our limit of reds by 8 am. We then relocated and got our limit on black drum, and for a bonus even got a few trout. Could not ask for more. Very knowledgeable Captain and kept things fun and exciting. Will definitely book again.
