Healy Outdoors provides guided drift boat and wading trips on the Salmon River and Oswego River. Based out of Altmar, New York, you and Captain Michael Healy or Rob Healy will head out to your desired freshwater destination and have a great time targeting various species. The captains know the area well and know how to make your trip a successful one, so join them aboard and have a lovely day of fishing rivers or lakes!

Up to 3 anglers per a drift boat. If your party is more than 3 send us a message as 2 or more boats may be needed. The boats you’ll be fishing aboard are 16’ Hyde drift boats that run via man power (oars) or using a kicker motor.

The species you’ll be chasing include Steelhead (Rainbow Trout), Brown Trout, King (Chinook) and Coho Salmon. We use various methods to target these species such as; trolling, casting, float fishing, fly fishing, and plunking. You decide whether you want to keep the fish you catch or release it back to the water. Youths are always welcome and encouraged to join in aim to perpetuate the sport. Bring them as well and have a great family outing together.

Your guide will provide both regular and fly fishing gear, live bait, lures and any other fishing gear you will need except chest waders. You should bring your fishing licenses, a pair of chest waders, and something to eat and drink so you stay refreshed.

You can catch Pike, Bass, Bowfin, & Walleye primarily. This trip is for every experience level and is rod in hand fishing. If you want to cast & catch fish yourself instead of watching trolling rods, this is the trip for you. We fish between Fairhaven & Sandy Creek, NY.

    Salmon is most active in low-light conditions like most fish, so why not fish then at night? We’ll be mostly casting spoons and crankbaits, but why not take some time to troll too? We encourage casting because despite popular opinion on salmon not biting. This trip will prove that false on top of allowing you to feel the sheer power of angry salmon smacking your lure and just about pulling the rod out of your hands. These fights on light spinning rods are epic and no joke.

    This is an afternoon trip for those looking to get out on the water without needing to get up before sunrise to save a spot in the dark. These trips are based on sunset and are at least 4 hours of fishing time up to 6 hours long. In September, we will fish the Salmon River estuary and in October we will switch gears to floating down the salmon river or fishing the Oswego River.
