Honolulu has a fish with your name on it, so let Ohana Deep Sea Fishing help you catch it!

Depending on the season, you might hook into Mahi Mahi, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Shortbill Spearfish, Bigeye Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and anything else that bites. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

Ohana Deep Sea Fishing is a child-friendly charter service, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!

Your vessel for the day is a 48’ Viking sportfisher with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it’s customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.

Some essentials to bring are sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had an absolute blast with Captain Mike and first mate Kahi aboard Reel Life! From the moment we stepped on the boat, they made us feel welcome and went above and beyond to make sure we had an incredible experience. We had some thrilling action on the water—hooked a barracuda (it got away!), came close to landing two good-sized marlins and a mahi, and still got to see them up close. Even though we didn’t bring them in this time, it was all part of the excitement and adventure. As my son wisely said, “It’s called fishing, not catching.” Captain Mike and Kahi’s knowledge, effort, and fun energy made the day one we’ll never forget. We’re already planning our return trip—this crew is the real deal. Mahalo for the memories!

Great Family Experience

Captain Mike and first mate Kahi were very welcoming, knowledgeable, and friendly on our trip. They tried their best to get us hooked up on the fish. We had a few come close, but none took the bait. So even though we didn't catch a fish, everyone still enjoyed their time out on the boat. The boat was very comfortable...you could catch some fresh air and take in the sights from up top or on the back deck. If you needed a break from the sun, it was comfy and cool inside. I'd recommend a trip with with Capt. Mike and first mate Kahi!

Awesome trip, highly recommend!

To start, this was my son’s first fishing trip and my first (of many) in Hawaii. Captain Mike and Kahi made it an adventure we will never forget. They were very detailed in their instructions and very accommodating in everything that we did. My son is hooked for life! He caught a wahoo, mahi, and barracuda and hasn’t stopped smiling since. We will definitely be back! I cannot recommend this trip and crew enough. If you are even considering it, just do it. It will be well worth it.

The boat itself was immaculate and in top-notch condition, adding to the overall enjoyment. Highlights of the day included my husband reeling in a stunning Mahi Mahi, but the real showstopper was our 20-year-old son’s incredible catch—a 148-pound yellowfin tuna! Great day on the water

We had an incredible day out on the water with Captain Mike and KU aboard Reel Life! From start to finish, the crew was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the entire trip a blast. We reeled in a barracuda and even hooked a blue marlin that gave us an unforgettable fight before it jumped and spit the hook—what a rush!
