Dockside Fishing Charters and Captain Hunter Williams welcome you for a fishing adventure in North Carolina! Starting out of Ocean isle beach, you will have a fun and safe trip to the area's inshore and nearshore water as well as reefs. These grounds are fish-rich as well as beautiful and Captain Hunter knows the best places for making a catch. Join him aboard and have a great time on the water!
The boat you will be using for your trip is a 23' Sportsman bay boat. It can sit up to 4 guests and is powered by a 150 HP 2017 Yamaha engine that can reach a speed of 40 knots. The boat uses modern GPS, fishfinder, as well as radio systems to keep you safe and on the right course all the time. It also features a wireless trolling motor for more discrete fishing and a livewell to provide you with live bait.
Some of the many species you can target on your trip include Cobia, Flounder, Sheepshead, King and Spanish Mackerel, and Redfish. To attract them, you will use light tackle trolling and drifting. You can either keep or release the fish you catch and you are also welcome to bring kids on your trip.
Captain Hunter provides you with all the fishing tackle, live bait, and lures. He also covers you for fishing licenses and catch cleaning. Before you start your trip, you should only bring the food and drinks of your choice.

3/4 Day Trip (AM) on June 30, 2025 • 3 adultsGreat day on the water with Captain Hunter! Booked a 3/4 day trip, and got some great redfish in just over three hours! We spent a little longer fishing catch and release, but since we got our limit early, and not much else other than redfish were biting, Hunter offered to reduce our trip to a 1/2 day trip and saved us $200. We missed out on trout season by one day, but that was bad luck on our part and nothing to do with the Captain. This was our second trip with Captain Hunter and we will definitely keep booking with him in the future.

I would do this trip again in a heart beat and that's saying something because I have been 5 offshore fishing charters and that includes a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Whoever gives this captain a low star rating should be ashamed of themselves. Captain Hunter put us on the fish from the jump and it was spectacular! Thank you so much for giving my wife and I the adventure of a lifetime!

He doesn’t care to spend the time and fuel money going out a little further to attempt to catch big fish. My family fishes freshwater in Tennessee and surrounding areas but are not experts at all with coastal fishing. He was exactly what I like in a captain. He guided us and explained the fishery and what works in his back yard. My only regret is that we waited to book too late in our week to book another one this trip. 100% chance I’m looking him back up when we return to the area!

Started out on some sheepshead and had a ball! transitioned to reds after tide change and ended up catching a limit to bring home. Great guide and person! Did everything he could to help us catch fish. Great experience!!! Would definitely recommend this charter.

Caught a few speckled trout and a gray trout. We went out for some king mackerel but not much action there. Weather forecast was iffy all day so we ended up going out a little later than originally planned and had to come back a little early to beat the storms. Got soaked on the way back but had a great time nonetheless. We booked for a 3/4 day trip, but Captain Hunter only charged us for a half day on account of the weather cutting our trip short. Overall, we had a great time with Captain Hunter and will definitely consider using him again in the future.
