Over the years, Captains Derwyn and Marshall Booker have had the pleasure of running dozens of offshore fishing boats; always looking for the one that provides the safest, fastest, most comfortable ride. One of the best in their opinion is their 33' Contender. With 600 horsepower on the stern, it boasts a top speed of 60 mph and a cruising speed of over 30 mph. It will get you to and from the fishing grounds quickly and comfortably, maximizing your fishing time. Some of its other features include a spacious bow and cockpit for fishing, plenty of comfortable seating for cruising, an enclosed restroom with an electric flush toilet, and awesome electronics including sonar, radar, and Bluetooth sound system.

I’ve been on guided trips before so this isn’t new. What I noticed was how organized and clean the boat was. That makes a difference in how easy and safe it is to get around on it and for the crew to assist you. Second, these boats are never comfortable, usually a padded cooler to sit on at best and if you’re like me at 56, it wears you down being jarred across choppy waters. These guys have beanbags to sit on. I literally wasted at least 2 hours while my son fished, napping. I was tired to begin with but the actual amount of fish caught meant that for a couple hours, it seemed like every time I dropped the line in the water, I immediately caught one or two fish. As in immediately. No exaggeration. Of course due to slot limits and the law, we threw back 3 out of four fish landed, but I now have a blister on my palm and soreness in my back and shoulder from cranking the reel handle most of the day. We still ended up with a stupid amount of fish to bring home. I’d book these guys again.
Wow, can’t ask for a much better review than that. Our goal every day is to put you on fish to the extent that you need a break. Glad the fish cooperated and we were able to wear you out. Sorry about the blister and your shoulder. Hope to see you again soon!
this was a trip we have talked ahout before. we did the 8 hr trip!! our captain and 1st mate were awesome. they enertained us. they did so great helping us with the fishing. tried to make sure we got what fishes we wanted to catch. would defintely do this with this captain again!!! this is the best charter next time will use them again but will bring some little fans. but that isnt anything they could help with.
Captain marshall was very entertaining. Got us on top of the fish. Whole crew had a good time. no complaints. boat was plenty big enough for the five of us. Anglers new and old will enjoy captain Marshall. experience or not, captain will get you were you need to be. make sure to get the extra red drum tag, you’ll need it!
This was the first time id ever been on a boat. Wow, this was an experience of a lifetime. The wether was not ideal and kiddos got sea sick but the captain new exactly how to handle everything and turned everything around for the best and all of us ended up having a blast. I would definitely do this again! highly recommend.
had a great experience. 3 generations on the boat with little to no experience fishing from a boat. Captain Marshall was excellent in getting everyone comfortable put us on fish. Overall had a great experience and would recommend CaptainMarshall for anyone looking to book a trip out of Freeport.
