Smoke Show is a 54' Custom Carolina sportfish, one of the largest charter boats that fishes out of Virginia Beach. Constructed by hand with craftsmanship, this one-of-a-kind boat design is made to thrive in the Chesapeake Bay and North Atlantic Ocean, offering a comfortable ride for up to 6 anglers. She's fully outfitted with the latest and greatest in fishing tackle, safety equipment, navigation technology, and marine electronics, along with a climate-controlled cabin and restroom facilities for an enjoyable charter experience. As it's docked just steps away from Rudee's Cabana Bar, once the summer starts, you'll have easy access to a great day of fishing and fun with friends and family.
Captain Jay and his crew use heavy tackle to bottom fish, deep sea fish, and troll for a number of quality inshore and offshore species. On your trip, you'll be able to chase Marlin, Tuna, Tilefish, Spadefish, Redfish, Wahoo, and more. You can keep the fish you catch. Also, kids are welcome to come aboard.
Fishing rods, reels, tackle, bait, ice, licenses, safety equipment, and more are all provided. Smoke Show Sportfishing provides water and basic amenities, but it's recommended for guests to bring their own special refreshments, food, non-spray sunscreen, and a fun attitude!
Your comfort being a priority, Smoke Show has got an enclosed air-conditioned and heated cabin as well as restroom facilities you can use while on the water. Captain Jay recommends you store all cold food items in the kitchen fridge, while any beverages can be kept in the large cooler outside for easy access while fishing.

Extended Full Day Trip – Offshore on August 8, 2026 • 4 adultswe had a great day with Captain Jay offshore. caught a bunch of fish early to get meat in the cooler and got to spend the rest of the day targeting bill fish. the boat was in immaculate condition and very comfortable for us despite a rougher day on the water. couldnt recommend this charter more if you’re looking for something out of VA Beach - we will certainly use him again if we’re coming back through!

Captain Jay and First Mate Lucca were both fantastic and gave us a great family trip we will remember. If back in VB and want to go fishing again, they will be our first choice every time!!

Extended Full Day Trip – Offshore on July 20, 2025 • 4 adultsCapt Jay and his first mate, are professional and knowledgeable and worked very hard to ensure our trip was a success. I recently took an off shore trip with my father, 2 sons and friends and the crew took the time to explain to us some of the techniques. They were also on constant look out to ensure we caught fish. Even on a “slow” day we still caught 2 Tuna and 2 Mahi and we couldn’t have been happier with the how the day went. We can’t wait to go again! I Highly recommend Capt Jay for your next trip!

For my son and my first time fishing charter it greatly exceeded expectations. The Captain and first mate were awesome. Very personable and made the trip very enjoyable. We also caught 21 mahi and over 30 fish in all. We will most likely use them again
