Panama GEM Charters – 27’ Proline 

What a great outing! By 8 AM we had already caught so many fish that it was getting old, so we moved on to search for more elusive fish. My son was really hoping to catch a mahi mahi like he had years ago. While he didn't get one, we did end up catching 3 different species. Our captain, Miguel, was great! He served us fresh tuna sashimi right on the boat. When we stopped at Taboga for lunch, the restaurant he took us to cooked up some of our tuna for us as well. It was cool seeing so many different types of ships throughout the day and learning more about what each was carrying. Thank you for a memorable day!

We had the best time on our fishing trip. The boat ride out was fast and super fun. Miguel and Boris set up all the fishing equipment while we just enjoyed ourselves. Once a fish bit, it was our time to shine. At one point all 4 lines had a fish. They guided us and cheered us on as we reeled them in. We caught 8 fish total, 1 being a mahi mahi. Boris cleaned it right on the boat and we had fresh ceviche within minutes. Would take this trip 100 times over. We had a blast. Huge shout out to Miguel and Boris for making it memorable.

I booked the 8-h tour, hoping to get some Mahi Mahi or Sailfish - After a promising start the action died down. Captain Miguel and Lino made every effort to get me on some fish, but it was just one of those days. They are very knowledgeable about the area's flora and fauna as well as the country - so I learned a lot and did see some great wildlife while trying to get something on the line. Cpt Miguel constantly explained his gameplan and in the last hour we finally hit fish. Jack and Spanish Mackerel found their way into the boat and I enjoyed a nice sashimi. Overall a great experience. Can't blame tour operator or crew for a slow day and the garbage floating in the water which caused a 4 star review.

Miguel and Gabriel took great care of us and gave us an amazing day. The boat was clean and well maintained, and the crew set up all the fishing gear. Friends who had never fished before pulled in 2 tuna and 2 mahi on the way out to the Pear Islands. Plus a show of dolphins and sailfish. The crew prepared sashimi and ceviche which we enjoyed in crystal clear water on a beautiful island beach. Can't beat that!

Alfredo and Lino were awesome! They even helped us learn to fillet the fish (something I wanted to learn!)

Crew and boat were great I enjoyed them and they made up a lot for the fishing being pretty dull (maybe was just a slow day?). I was a bit disapointed to pay 2200CND to catch only 3 small to medium size spanish mackerale as was advertised as a big game experience (and we never even had a bite from anything sizeable). I will admit we lost 1.5ish hours due to the wife need a break for being sea sick and our taxi driver going to 4 gas stations to buy 7$ worth of gas on the way to the dock so that defintely didnt help us in terms of fishing. Overall was a decent experience but not worth the cost compared to other outings i have been on.

Everything was really good except the equipment. The boat and crew were fantastic, but the fishing equipment was terrible. The fishing wasn't the best, but they worked really hard to find fish. Good experience overall. Please update the rods and reels.

This trip was so much better than our last fishing experience in Panama. The crew was professional, the boat was clean, had a great audio system, and fast. The launch point was at the marina on the coast, where as our last trip's was inside the canal where we wasted 30 minutes of our time getting to the ocean. We are definitely doing this again and will likely upgrade to a bigger boat with this charter company. Definitely a safe bet
