Overall the fishing trip was nice. The captain was able to avoid the rain by swing south away from the storm. Although he has some issues with the fish finder we were expecting King Salmon but only caught Lake Trout. When we arrived back on the shore the captain didn’t have a method to receive the balance due for the trip. So he called the boat owner and somewhere between them they decided to take a picture of my credit card to process later. I wasn’t please with this action. Once I arrived home I had the card canceled and new reissued.

I have never caught less than 7 fish when chartering out of Ludington, MI. Maybe the day was not good and water to warm but to have no mate and take people out just by yourself does not give the captain time to locate the fish while he is putting all the lines in. One steelhead for the whole group of five was very disappointing. Will make sure next charter I take has captain and mate aboard.

Wish I could see the whole review instead of the first few lines, but I get the fist of it. I’m sorry we didn’t get more fish but I was trying. That’s why I pulled lines from the first spot and ran 8 miles north to another spot and set up again. I could have saved 20 gallons of fuel and stayed where we were. I could have run out deep in the rough water and caught more fish but I was trying to keep your group in calmer more comfortable conditions.  As far as not having a mate, I haven’t had one in 30 years just as many other Charters don’t use a mate. That helps keep my overhead down so I can run cheaper than a lot of other boats. Again I am sorry you had a bad trip and found it necessary to leave a bad review, in 30 years that’s the first bad one. I have had trips where we only caught 1 or 2 fish as every other Charter has. I can’t control mother nature or the fish, wish I could.
