Costa Rica is known as one of the top Billfish destinations in the world, with magical Quepos being one of its fishing epicenters. If you're looking to explore these bountiful waters with the help of the best, The Relaxer should be at the top of your list!
Join the skilled and knowledgeable crew aboard their newly remodeled 34' Venture boat. This beauty combines the best of both worlds, the comfort of a center console, and top-notch fishing gadgets. It features twin 300 HP Suzuki outboard engines, outriggers, a Livewell, and an ice-box. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. The Relaxer can comfortably carry up to 10 anglers fishing simultaneously.
Quepos waters are famous for Marlin, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Sailfish. Offshore trips usually take place 25 to 40 miles from the coast. In addition to the aforementioned deep-sea species, you'll also get to target the likes of Roosterfish, Amberjack, and Snapper, depending on the fishing location and your preferences. The First Mate will be there to help you make the most out of your trip. Tipping is customary to show appreciation for their hard work.
You'll be supplied with top-tier fishing gear, mainly by Shimano, as well as live bait and lures. Fly fishing is also an option if you bring your own gear. Fishing licenses are easily purchased at the marina for $17 per person per day. Soft drinks, beer, and water and included. Full-day trips include lunch, while shorter trips will have light snacks. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses, and The Relaxer will take care of everything!

We booked The Relaxer lookingbfor an experienced captain and crew, not a bunch of creature comforts. If you are looking for a cabin where you can hang out and be comfortable until there is a fish on, this is not the boat for you. If you are looking for a local who will work their butts off to get fish, even on a day no other boats are catching, this is your boat. Bring sunscreen, a sun shirt, a hat and a good attitude and you will have a blast. We didn't catch as much as we wanted but we did get some, and we saw plenty of sea life. We would definitely book The Relaxer again.

From the time of booking, i receieved whats app messages, text messages, and fishing booker app messages from 3 differenet people!! The first was a confirmation text for wrong boat and date! every line of communication I emphasized that we only wanted to fish for Tuna. Owner of charter ensured me live bait would be on the boat in preparation for tuna fishing! when we arrived to the boat on the charter day, the captain asked "what are we targeting for"?!!!! Are you serious, i texted Steve, Johnny, and Didier that we wanted tuna and you ask on our arrival what we want to target! And guess what, there was no live bait on board! Organizational skills for this operation is not what earned stars! capt and first mate are not at fault, they were a great crew, but to have to go through our 5th. charter out of quepos and still not be prepped for tuna which was noted on app from time of booking, is poor business!
Captain and mate were great, they had plenty of snacks food and water for our group of 6 guys. Went out searching for sails ended up catching one. Then got word of tuna in the area so we chased them and after some hard work ended up catching 2. Mate had them filleted and ready to go a few min after catching them. Only reason i am a little hesitant about our trip is at the end of our 9hr day, about 2 miles offshore one engine stopped working so we had to go in slow. which was fine cause we were not far. Only cause for concern is if the engine would have stopped when we were 20 miles, Im not sure what protocol would be for that situation. In reality it was a good day and I would use them again in the future.
Our favorite deep sea charter fishing experience. We've gone on about 8 charter fishing trips over the past few years in Central America and this one checked all of the boxes. Very fair price. Extremely knowledgeable first mate and captain. Easy communication. Easy pickup/dropoff. Fish everywhere. Boat was spacious for 4 people easily. They prepared all sorts of food for us. 15/10 will go again!
we had a group of ten 6 adults and 4 kids. El Cheetah was a great guide. we landed a sailfish and were on several tuna. we had a pod of dolphins with us for probably two hours while chasing for tina. We had a great experience and would highly recommend.
