Costa Rica is known as one of the top Billfish destinations in the world, with magical Quepos being one of its fishing epicenters. If you’re looking to explore these bountiful waters with the help of the best, The Relaxer should be at the top of your list!

Join the skilled and knowledgeable crew aboard their newly remodeled 34’ Venture boat. This beauty combines the best of both worlds, the comfort of a center console, and top-notch fishing gadgets. It features twin 300 HP Suzuki outboard engines, outriggers, a Livewell, and an ice-box. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. The Relaxer can comfortably carry up to 10 anglers fishing simultaneously.

Quepos waters are famous for Marlin, Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, and Sailfish. Offshore trips usually take place 25 to 40 miles from the coast. In addition to the aforementioned deep-sea species, you’ll also get to target the likes of Roosterfish, Amberjack, and Snapper, depending on the fishing location and your preferences. The First Mate will be there to help you make the most out of your trip. Tipping is customary to show appreciation for their hard work.

You’ll be supplied with top-tier fishing gear, mainly by Shimano, as well as live bait and lures. Fly fishing is also an option if you bring your own gear. Fishing licenses are easily purchased at the marina for $17 per person per day. Soft drinks, beer, and water and included. Full-day trips include lunch, while shorter trips will have light snacks. Bring sunscreen and sunglasses, and The Relaxer will take care of everything!

Join them on the water and let them create your next favorite memory!

5 Hour Trip – Nearshore (PM)

A Fun Five Hour Near Shore Trip

VERIFIED

Captain Yiyo and First Mate Warner were excellent. They were easy going and did their best to make our trip successful. We caught Spanish mackerel and Jack crevalle. The crew worked hard to find the fish using Rapala trolling and sardine live bait techniques. Warner was very attentive and did his best to teach me live bait fishing, but it was a tricky...especially in not setting the hook too soon. There were several major location moves. The unspoiled and pristine coastline with mountains in the background was truly a memorable sight to behold. We got a lot of fishing in during the five hours. At the end, the guys forgot to give us our fileted catch. Luckily, we remembered to get our fresh fish, and a restaurant did a beautiful job of preparing our fresh mackerel meal. I recommend The Relaxer. My wife and I had fun, and it was good value for our experience.

9 Hour Trip – Offshore

Great experience!

VERIFIED

We had an excellent time. If you are like me and on this website unsure of what to look for, this is a great pick. We wanted to land some big fish and that's exactly what we got! The captain and mate were friendly and knowledgeable. The boat is comfortable and well outfitted with equipment. There is a bathroom! We got several sailfish and tuna. We are very pleased with the experience. We would definitely recommend this outfit to other people looking for the fishing trip of a lifetime!

7 Hour Trip – Offshore

Great Boat, captain and 1st mate

VERIFIED

The reasons to consider this charter is the Captain is seasoned and has many great relationships with other guides which adds to the catch rate. The 1st mate managed the rigs and deck perfectly. Also, the boat was pretty fast running at about 28 Knotts in good weather. On our trip it was a little slow but still hooked 4 Sailfish and landed 2. I like many other anglers I would recomend this charter. Happy Fishing!

7 Hour Trip – Offshore

No fish, but not for lack of trying

VERIFIED

It was one of those beautiful days in Costa Rica; Sun was bright, boat was gorgeous and the fish just were not biting. It happens. Crew did all possible to catch some fish, but it just didn't happen. Others on the radio were saying, 'nada nada nada.' Boat is gorgeous. Equipment high quality. Snacks good, beverages plentiful. Would recommend despite the no-fish situation.

7 Hour Trip – Offshore

Another great day on the Relaxer

VERIFIED

2nd year in a row out with our friends on the Relaxer. Started off shore for sail fish. Switched to tuna when 1000 dolphins showed up over a huge ball of bait. Tuna busting bait on the surface. This went on for hours. Caught off a big one on a popper. That was amazing! Caught some smaller ones as the day went on. Crew were very friendly and spoke English well. I'll be back.
