Join Captain Jason “Butterfly” Coffin and first mate Jorge for an unforgettable fishing adventure off Costa Rica’s Pacific coast with Mr. Trigger Big Game Fishing!
Capt. Coffin knows the waters around Flamingo and Tamarindo exceptionally well. During 11 years of guiding in the region, he earned an impressive reputation as a big game specialist, including three offshore world records - two Sailfish and one Marlin - as well as an exceptional Roosterfish catch.
After retiring from guiding in 2017, he continued to expand his experience around the world, fishing in Hawaii, Fiji, and the Bahamas and learning from some of the sport’s most respected captains. Among his most meaningful partnerships was his friendship and mentorship with the late Capt. Bart Miller of Black Bart Lures, with whom he even won a marlin tournament.
Now back in Costa Rica, Capt. Coffin brings decades of experience, international knowledge, and a genuine passion for fishing to Mr. Trigger Big Game Fishing. Depending on the season and conditions, you can target Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Roosterfish, Amberjack, and other exciting Pacific species.
You'll fish fully equipped for offshore and inshore fishing with quality rods, reels, tackle, navigation and safety equipment. The boat accommodates up to 4 anglers and is operated by an experienced crew who know these fishing grounds inside out.
Fishing gear, tackle, and bait are provided. We recommend bringing sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, comfortable clothing, non-slip shoes, a camera, and any snacks or drinks you'd like for the trip. A light change of clothes is also a good idea!
Come aboard and let Capt. Coffin and Jorge put you on the fish!
We can’t wait to take you fishing!
