What a day. The seas were choppy and a few of us were feeling it, but this crew kept things fun, light, and dialed in the entire time. We ended up landing 14 mahi and a wahoo, and even had a shot at a monster sailfish (the one that got away will definitely be talked about for a while 😄). Captain Ed and First Mate Mikey knew exactly where to go, kept us on the fish, and were awesome with the kids—making sure everyone got in on the action. They handled everything, coached us through, and made it easy to just enjoy the experience. It honestly felt like a perfect mix of adventure, chaos, and big wins. We had an absolutely fantastic experience with this fishing charter in Marathon, FL—especially as a family with kids. From the moment we got on the boat, the captain and crew made everyone feel welcome and comfortable, taking extra time to engage with the kids and make sure they were involved every step of the way. They were incredibly patient, teaching the kids how to bait hooks, cast, and reel in fish without ever making it feel rushed or overwhelming. Our fishing trip with Wet Tails Charters was absolutely fantastic. Even though the weather was rough and it was raining heavily, Captain Ed Taylor and his first mate Ian worked nonstop to make sure we still had a great day on the water. We caught dozens of fish — even if they weren’t exactly the target species we were hoping for — but there were plenty of great fights and solid action. The experience that Captain Ed and his sidekick Ian delivered was top-class. Honestly, it was outstanding, especially considering these were some of the worst weather conditions Key West has seen in a long time. We had 6 in our family outing, from 10 - 72 yrs old. Each of us rated the trip 5+. From the moment we met at the dock, Captiain Ed and Ian were personable and focused on us having an enjoyable and successful fishing trip. That we did! They were always there with new bait, gave clear and calm instructions for landing the fish, helped land when needed, and were especially good with our 10 and 13 year old guys. They not only helped us catch fish, we had great conversation with them. We felt safe and comfortable on their boat. Not only would we go with them again, and plan on it, we've already recommended them to 3 others. There was nothing about this trip that could have been better. We caught enough fish to have a meal for 6 at LazyDays (bring your catch), 2 meals home cooked, and packages to ship home. Thank you Captain Ed & Ian for making this the highlight of our trip to Marathon!! We will see you again.

Captain Ed and first mate Ian are true professionals that never give up. A beautiful day on the water but no boats were getting any action. Ed and Ian continued to strategize and change approaches and locations until we got on the fish. Even keeping us out a few hours past our booked time limit to make sure we had a great time and caught all the fish we could eat once we got on them. On a day when most captains were throwing in the towel, Captain Ed made it happen! I have fished for multiple years in marathon and finally found the right outift with Wet Tails. Honest, Generous, kind, and great company. I cannot recommend them enough. Well done!

I booked a half-day fishing charter with Wet Tails Charter and it was easily one of the highlights of our trip. From the moment we arrived at the dock, Captain Ed and the crew were professional, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. The boat was clean, well-maintained, and equipped with all the necessary gear. Captain Ed knew exactly where to take us—we were reeling in fish within the first 30 minutes! We caught a mix of mangrove snapper, yellow tail snapper, yellow jacks, grouper, and even hooked some tarpon, which was a huge thrill. The crew was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, especially for those of us who aren’t expert anglers. They patiently helped us with baiting, casting, and gave us tips throughout the trip. They even filleted the fish for us at the end and gave some great recommendations for local restaurants that would cook our catch. It was a fun, stress-free, and memorable experience. Highly recommend this charter for anyone looking to enjoy a great day of fishing, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro. Can’t wait to go again next season!

Caught some blackfin tuna. Guide knows his stuff. First mate was doing a great job, really nice, and great at keeping conversations going on a long trip. They tried really hard to get me a sword and I definitely plan on going back to try again.

Captain Ed and First Mate Mikey we awesome hosts. Friendly, fun and knew where to find fish. Very knowledgeable about fishing and the Keys. Water off shore was rough and one of my kids was bit quesy - Ed quicky and graciously moved us to a calmer gulf side spot where we caught lots of Snapper. A great way to spend a day on the water. Highly recommend!

the day started a little rough and wet. Capt. Ed headed toward some calmer water , looking fir grass and birds. thats where the fish eould be. we caught a few small Mahi gush and send them back to grow. when the sun brone out fir awhike we were able to catch 6 - Keepers and 1- cuda. props to capt Ed and Mike the mate fir keeping thd trip positive.

This is our second fishing charter in the Keys, and this one blew the other out of the water (pun intended). Captain and first mate were great, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. Boat was great and has restroom on board if needed. Caught lots of beautiful fish. When we come back to the Keys, we will definately use this charter again. Thanks for the great day!
