If fishing in Lake Superior is on your bucket list, look no further than Casting Nets Guide Service. Captain Dave Schulz has had a passion for fishing for as long as he can remember, and it shows by the smile on his face every time someone is reeling in a fish.
These waters are known for Brown Trout, Steelhead, Lake Trout, Walleye, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, and more – with any luck, it won’t be long before "Fish on!" You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that’s dinner!
Capt. Dave welcomes you aboard a 21’ Aluminum fishing with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has downriggers and all the essentials. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Before coming aboard, you’ll need to buy a Wisconsin fishing license with the Great Lakes Trout stamp. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. A few items to bring include snacks, drinks, sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.

I took 2 of my boys and their cousin on a birthday trip and booked with Casting Nets and Captain Dave. What a great guy! This adventure felt more like a trip with a family member than a stranger. He was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable. We had a lot of fun and would absolutely do it again. Thank you, Dave!!

Caught fish = Happy kids
Captain Dave was a good communicator + very professional. He cared about safety and had deep local knowledge re where the fish are biting. Plus friendly chap too! We caught 6 fish of which 4 were keepers. 3 trout + 1 silver salmon. One of the trout was pretty decent size. Highly recommend Captain Dave.

31” Lake Trout - Catch (and release!) of the day
Great guide with a passion for fishing! Dave worked hard jiggering all the lines while we enjoyed the suspense of reeling in the big ones. 2 adults and two teens had their fill (and thrills!) of keeping 8 trout (splake, brown and lake) and throwing the monster 31” lake trout back (after photos of course) to preserve the trout populations in Lake Superior. A guide with a heart. We cannot wait to fish with Dave again!
