You'll fish aboard Wai Tadra, a 40ft White Cap boat fully surveyed to explore any destination within Fiji's waters. The company has the flexibility to provide trips around any one of the country's 300-plus islands. This flexibility, combined with the superior quality of the boat, makes Ocean Dream Fiji's premier sportfishing operation.
Wai Tadra is powered by two 500 HP Cummins engines. It features a luxurious air-conditioned interior complemented by a huge, self-draining back deck. There are gadgets required for game fishing on board, with tuna tubes, a live bait tank, and a high-tech fighting chair all at your disposal. You'll also appreciate the enclosed head with a hot and cold shower! All trips come fully catered with lunches, soft drinks, water and local beer.
You will be fishing with custom-built heavy tackle by Shimano, using an assortment of artificial lures, teasers, live bait, and dead bait. The crew will be happy to clean and fillet your catch, so you can take it straight to the table upon your return.
We specialize in big game and going after trophy fish. This involves trolling for target species such as Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi and Wahoo. There is also the option at the end of the day, if you so wish, to deep drop with the electric reels.
And if you have come to Fiji with one goal in mind – to catch a giant and lightning-fast Marlin, the crew will help you work the bait schools, currents, and seamounts for predominantly Blue Marlin.

Rob and the team are there to catch serious fish. All gear is top notch (Tiagra’s) and the Wai Tadra is fitted out with all amenities you’d expect on a quality game fishing boat. The team is serious about chasing billfish but also knows when it’s time to change approach to secure another pelagic species when things aren’t working. This knowledge resulted in capture of a Trophy Bull Mahi Mahi. Highly recommend.
Captain Rob, Brad and Jimmy were knowledgeable and had good reviews. The boat was comfortable with plenty of drinks and food on board. We booked a 9 hour trip to end our Fiji holiday on, targeting Marlin, Tuna, Mahi mahi and wahoo. Unfortunately, we didn't get a single hook up for the day but its luck of the draw with fishing! Captain Rob and the team tried hard just but wasn't our day. Still an enjoyable day out on the water and would recommend Rob and Wai Tadra charters.
Rob and the team could not be more helpful. We had a cyclone that put our trip back a few days, and we kept changing plans. They could not be more helpful. We go fishing a lot all over the world and have to say one of the most professional operations we have ever used. We pulled out well over 250kg of bluefin tuna between us on the charter.
I would like to say my sincere thanks to captain Rob and the crew! I was targeting Marlin specifically and Rob made this dream come true. After 30 minutes of fight, a 125kg Blue Marlin was tagged and released. This moment will stay with me for whole my life. If you are serious about catching Marlin, Rob is your best choice!
