Species like Tautog, Flounder, Scup (Porgy), Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonito, Weakfish, Little Tunny, Black Seabass, and more can be found in these waters if you come at the right time of year. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. Capt. Samuel also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
You'll be welcome aboard a 22' Bay boat with room for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Samuel will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. It's always wise to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Afternoon mixed bag on September 3, 2023 • 4 adults • 2 childrenFor anyone looking for a phenomenal day of fishing, I highly recommend BayTime Charters & Captain Samuel! He treated our teenage boys to a day of learning, lessons & a world class fishing experience that they will always remember & we look forward to booking him many more times in the future! Captain Samuel shared his skill & expertise & really helped our boys enjoy this awesome adventure to its fullest! He even prepared our day by catching baitfish & had everything, all rods ready to go perfectly. With his guidance, our family caught fish all day & we were able to keep quite a lot of them after he kindly prepared them for us, all ready to grill delicious! I recommend this Captain for any age & skill level, but if you are looking for someone perfect for a family outing, this is the Captain, so patient, he helped us with every hook, every detail, explained about the proper lengths of fish, told us interesting stories about his life growing up on these waters & history of the area. I really enjoyed & appreciated the time he gave us! We are hooked & we will be back!!!!

Can’t guarentee you’ll see dolphins like we did, but i can assure you Capt Sam will be on the fish; he takes that personally. 2 hours, cought 6+ porgies, 2 bass, and a few got aways; all during a slack tide dead of noon. This was our first opportunity to take a private fishibg charter on the Long Island sound. My nephew and I had an experience with Sam that was out of this world. sam is professional, knowledgeable and kept us entertained for our full 4 hour excursion.
