Great day on the water!
Full Day Trip on January 3, 20262 adults
My Wife and I had a great time on the water, the fishing was slow but it's called fishing and not catching for a reason! Captain Juan and Mate Nesmer were awesome! Nesmer and I chatted all day like we were old friends, they made us feel very comfortable and asking often if we needed anything like snacks, drinks, food, etc. I caught a beautiful Sailfish, we had several Wahoo bites and I also caught a Skipjack. It is one of the smaller offshore boats but 2 of us were very comfortable and it had a toilet which is a bonus! Overall fantastic day! Thank you Juan and Nesmer!

Thank you so much for this amazing and thoughtful review! 😊 You’re absolutely right it’s called fishing, not catching, and we love your attitude. We’re so happy you and your wife still had a fantastic day on the water and were able to land a beautiful sailfish, plus a skipjack and some exciting wahoo action 🎣🔥 Captain Juan and Mate Nesmer will be especially happy to hear your kind words. Making guests feel comfortable, relaxed, and taken care of is exactly what we aim for, and it’s great to hear the conversation and service made the day even more memorable. We’re also glad you appreciated the comfort of the boat even on a smaller offshore boat, having space, a restroom, and good vibes makes all the difference. Thank you again for choosing us, and we truly hope to fish with you both again in the future!

Full Day Trip on July 15, 20254 adults
I have been fishing my entire life which is the better part of 50 years. I am a striper guide back home in Texas and I know the stress a captain can feel. We were after Marlin, Sailfish and Mahi. Unfortunately, we missed a Marlin but were successful on the Sailfish and Mahi. The young captain of this boat was very talented to say the least. While using a teaser (that which makes noise in front of the bait) a sailfish came up on the teaser instead of the following bait. Our captain had a rod, reel and bait prepared for this very occasion. He skillfully used the rod and reel with the bait on it and threw it just in front of the nose of the sailfish. Fortunately, the sailfish could not say no and the fight was on. There was another sailfish that was landed as well. He was 94 pounds and 104" long! Both sailfish were released alive and well however the mahi-mahi was not as fortunate as he found the hot iron skillet at a restaurant on the beach immediately after our afternoon return. We will see you in December hopefully to catch that Blue Marlin! THANK YOU FOR AN AMAZING ADVENTURE!!!!

Big 250lb marlin ( catch & release) then keeper grouper and snapper
Half Day Trip (AM) on April 18, 20264 adults
Captain Juan and mate José were experienced and eager to help make the best 1/2 fishing plan. Their English was good enough and we were lucky to have a big marlin on after 15-20 minutes of trolling 3-4 miles out. Fought it for 2 1/2 hours and brought it up to the boat and surface to release per Costal Rica regs. The boat would not have been big enough even if we could have kept it. 4 in our party.

Thank you for fishing with us! 🎣 Landing and releasing a marlin after a 2.5-hour fight is something most anglers only dream about! We’re glad Captain Juan and mate José could help create such a memorable day offshore. Finishing the trip with grouper and snapper for dinner made it even better. Hope to see your group back in Tamarindo for another adventure soon!
