- Background
- I inherited my passion for fishing. Since I was old enough to hold up my grandfather’s spey rod in Scotland. I was hooked. I grew up fishing in Canada, listening to stories of prized, hard-fighting Salmon and have been lucky enough to fish year-round and across the globe, at every opportunity. I cut my teeth as a sportfishing guide in Haida Gwaii, guiding a wide variety of different anglers at the world-renowned, coveted, Langara Fishing Lodge. I spent three seasons fishing Langara island and obtained over 3000 guided hours as a resident guide, earning my PhD in Chinook Salmon and Halibut fishing. I realized up north that, I not only love fishing and guiding guests to trophy fish, but I truly enjoy sharing my passion and enthusiasm for fishing with others and creating lifelong memories and relationships, on the water. When I am not guiding, you can likely find me fly fishing on the rivers, lakes, and streams, we are blessed to have here on beautiful Vancouver Island. I look forward to fishing with you and until then… Tight Lines, Captain Andrew
