Frisky Reds – Frisky 2
Make the most of your time in Galveston and go fishing with Frisky Reds. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Brandon is prepared to put you on fish.
Depending on conditions, you might hook into Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Red Snapper, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Black Drum, Mangrove Snapper, Blackfin Tuna, Gray Triggerfish, Speckled Trout, Lane Snapper, and who knows what else! On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your adventure begins aboard a 34' Grady-White 336 center console with room for 6 passengers. It has outriggers and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Brandon will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had a great experience with Frisky Reds! From the time we booked, the communication was excellent. They kept us updated, answered our questions, and let us know ahead of time that the weather wasn’t going to cooperate for our planned offshore trip. Even though we had to switch to an inshore trip, the captain and mate made sure our group of six still had a great day on the water. We caught plenty of gafftop and brought home lots of fish. The captain and mate were friendly, knowledgeable, and worked hard to make sure everyone had a good time. We’d definitely recommend Frisky Reds and would book with them again!
When the weather threw a curveball, the captain didn’t blink — he pivoted our offshore trip to jetty fishing without missing a beat, and honestly? It turned out to be the perfect call. The fish didn’t get the memo about the weather, because we hauled in catch after catch, rods bending and reels screaming all day long. For six total saltwater rookies, this could not have gone better. The captain and crew read us in fast, kept things easy to follow, and brought genuine enthusiasm to every single bite. There was nonstop encouragement, high-fives, and that electric feeling of “wait, did I actually just catch that?!” on repeat. This wasn’t just a fishing trip — it was a masterclass in rolling with the punches and still delivering an unforgettable day on the water. If you’re newer to saltwater fishing and want a crew that makes you feel like a pro by lunchtime, book these guys. We’re already planning our next trip.
Richard and Sam did an amazing job putting us on Snapper and keeping us on them. They were very patient and professional. My kids had high hopes for catching some good for their birthday and they were wore ou from reeling in snapper!

Captain and crew, great with all ages, including my 9 year old son. Lightning cut our trip short but we still had a great time. Caught a variety of fish inside the jetty. Fish caught included Shark, Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Sand Trout, Whiting, and more. 3 generations were able to create fishing stories that will last a lifetime.

thank you so much, we hope to see you all again!

Overall it was a good trip. We didn't catch much, but,as they say it fishing not catching. We caught some small fish. Captain tred several spots. It was in the afternoon so i imagine the action sloed down. Thank you very much for the experience!
The Angler's Choice Award is given to listings that consistently deliver a high-quality service and earn great reviews from customers.
I love all kinds of fishing, whether inshore or offshore. I never get tired of watching the big redfish or or monster snappers come aboard. I started fishing with grandparents when I could barely walk and addicted to it my whole life. I always try and make the best memories for all customers and always go the extra mile for kids.
