If you're ready to go fishing in Tamarindo, book a trip with Wired Sportfishing. With Captain Waco at the helm, you're in knowledgeable and experienced hands.

Local species include Amberjack, Broomtail Grouper, Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Roosterfish, Mackerel, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and more, depending on the time of year. You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Your fishing machine for the day is a 32' Pursuit sportfishing vessel with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods and reels are supplied for you. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray) and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks for you on board.

Visa and Mastercard are accepted, but there will be an extra charge of 13% IVA tax.

You could keep reading this, but wouldn't you rather be fishing with Wired Sportfishing?

Good times
Full Day Trip on May 14, 20266 adults

We had a great experience with Wired Fishing, even though we didn't catch anything this time. The captain and first mate worked hard the entire trip and truly did everything they could to put us on fish. They were attentive, professional, and made sure we were comfortable throughout the day. The boat was well run, the lunch was good, and they provided plenty of snacks, which was a nice touch. Even without a catch, we still enjoyed the experience and appreciated the effort and hospitality. I would definitely recommend Wired Fishing and would go out with them again.

Windy Day Tuna time
3/4 Day Trip on February 2, 20264 adults

We picked the windiest day of the year and still caught fish. We didn't have a flexible schedule, so had to fight a very windy day. After an hour or so a few miles off shore, we decided that the conditions were not safe and returned closer to shore. We caught 6 decent Mackerel Tuna in 6 hours, including 2 at 1 time. Hopefully our next trip will have favorable weather and we can try for other species. Captain Hector and his first mate worked hard for us, made shashimi and provided cold beer and sandwiches. We highly recommend for an authentic Costa Rican fishing experience.

Boat, service, and fishing were exceptional with Wired Sportfishing
Half day trip PM on January 3, 20265 adults

Thank you to the entire Wired team! They were waiting for us right on time and had a cooler stocked with water bottles, juice, beer, and snacks for us to enjoy. It was a truly memorable day in your company. The fishing was exceptional thanks to our captain's experience—he knew exactly where the fish were. We caught several species! Outstanding service overall, with every fish cleaned and prepared by the crew directly on the boat. All that was left to do was bring it home and enjoy an unforgettable dinner! Thank you—highly recommend this fishing excursion.

Best trip ever !!
Full Day Trip on May 13, 20266 adults

We signed up for a full day. we only caught one fish, but what a fish! It was a yellowfin tuna, and was my personal best. It took almost 2.5 hrs to get it on the boat and weighed right at 150 pounds! I would say this trip isbest booked for a person looking to catch large fish like yellowfin tuna, marlin, or sailfish. The crew was GREAT, very accommodating and worked hard.

We've been fishing for over 30 years. We've fished all over the Gulf Coast and now the Pacific Coast. Waco, our captain is a man of the sea. He needs no compass or GPS, of course, we have them, to find the fish. He's a natural-born Pacific fisherman.
