If you're in the market for a day to remember, look no further than Fishing Machine and their boat Good News. Captain Laurin will be your guide, allowing you to benefit from years of angling experience.
Great Barracuda, Amberjack, Bonito, Black Grouper, Mahi Mahi, Goliath Grouper, Red Grouper, African Pompano Jack, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Blue Marlin, Sailfish, White Marlin, and more are in the cards, depending on the time of year. You can expect to do some trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Children are welcome, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks – lucky for you, there will already be some on board!
Capt. Laurin welcomes you aboard the Good News, a 43' Torres convertible that can carry up to 12 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
It's recommended to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Fishing Machine!

started the day off greeted bybthe crew, the lads where great talk me through everything. i ask about shark fishing and before i new it we was at the point dropping a bait. it didnt tale long before the first hit, which we succeeded on landing. (my first bull shark) around 80lb. what a fight, ive caught some fish in my time but for a juvenile bull shark it put up one hell of a fight. we went on yo catch another but before that we lost one, i can only explain it to being attached to a train, it just run. finished the day off trawling but had no luck. overall it was a fantastic trip, the crew couldnt do enought for me. thank uou bery much. a trip i definitely wont forget.
I would like to start by this was a very organized trip for us. Pick up to and from the boat was arranged for us at a reasonable price. We fished with Necrio as the deckhand (sorry im sure its spelled differently). He had a full time job clearing weeds from lines and re tying rigs. He took good care of everyone while on the boat. All the gear and boat were in good shape. I would say the waves around the D.R. are more choppy that I prefer to be on. It was a normal day for them. I was worried that only 1 of 6 of us had been deep sea fishing and the trip would get called short but everyone hung in there even if they were sea sick. Only negative I have is it seemed it wasnt expected that we would want the fish to bring home. The filet job was a good start to prepping the fish to cook, but still needs finished. just use to being able to soak filets and cook after coming off a charter. It seemed like an inconvenience to ask for them to be cleaned and beggers cant be choosey. Still would recommend this charter for people with experience going out deep sea fishing. I would be hesitant if you have small children just based off choppy water on a normal day.
Before we departed the Captain let us know that there were large swells, and the trip could be rough. He offered to take us back to our resort and not charge us for the excursion. We decided to go, and we soon learned of his honesty. it was rough and a few of us were not enjoying the morning. Without hesitation he returned to the marina to drop off a few of our group. He took the balance of us out to finish our tour. We caught some Dorado and all had a good time. We would recommend this to anyone.

Everything was great. The crew was very well prepared, motivated, and fun to be with. The trip itself was excellent and well organized. Unfortunately, the weather was not ideal — it was windy with big waves. Despite that, we still managed to catch one small mahi-mahi and a slightly bigger barracuda. Overall, a great experience and a professional team. Highly recommended
