If you're ready to start fishing in Placencia, book a trip with Top Of The Life Fishing A&A. Your guide for the day is Captain Roland, so you'll benefit from his knowledge and experience.

These waters are known for Pompano, Great Barracuda, Little Tunny (False Albacore), African Pompano Jack, Lobster, Hogfish, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Warsaw Grouper, Needlefish, Jack Crevalle, Horse-eye Jack, Snowy Grouper, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.

Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!

Your adventure begins aboard a 23' Panga that can carry up to 4 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are included, along with lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.

Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

A few items to bring include a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.

Now, come aboard with Top Of The Life Fishing A&A and get hooked!

We “Snapped” them up!
8 Hour Trip – Deep Sea Fishing on July 28, 20266 adults

They call it fishing not catching… we started trolling for big game fish. We were not successful there, so the Capt. opted to do deep drops (700-1000ft). It did not disappoint. We caught a bunch of snapper… They were delicious! The Capt. and first mate were incredibly responsive, and we’re willing to teach us about how to use the electronic reels as none of us had ever used them before. The boat was fairly comfortable, even though the seas were rough. I would 100% do it again!

Hi, I am Captain Roland Alford I grew up in the Sarstoon area; which is the river that divides Belize and Guatemala, however, I am a born Belizean. From a very young age, I was introduced to fishing by my father who taught me to be optimistic, hardworking, and humble at the same time. This was 30 years ago. My father was a fisherman and a hunter and that's what I inherited from him. While growing up I got convinced that sports fishing was what I wanted to do for a living. I have worked with the Belize Fisheries Department and marine NGO'S which gave me the opportunity to learn the Belize Fishing Laws. However, the pace was too slow for me — I wanted to feel on top of the life. Thus, I was inspired by something more fun. I decided to venture into deep sea sports fishing and go for the big game fish such as the Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi — Also, bottom fishing for species such as Groupers, Queen Snappers, Champagne Snappers, Amber Jacks, and more. I have about 15 years in the tourism industry. I worked with several companies over the recent years, however, a year ago I decided to pursue my own business — something that I can manage and grow. Along with my girlfriend, Nancy Aguilar, who has helped me with this dream to come true — I also introduce her to fishing. Nancy is very efficient in areas in which I need help. Our main objective is to make you, our guests, have the best fishing experience in our jewel country of Belize.
