Sound Charters
If you plan on fishing in New London, look no further than Sound Charters.
The fish in these waters include Albacore Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Cod, Scup (Porgy), Tautog, Black Seabass, and more if you cast your line at the right time of year. You can expect to do some spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
Your vessel for the day is a 38' Bertram sportfisher with capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. What's more, this vessel is wheelchair accessible. In addition the boat is equipped with a state of the art Seakeeper gyro that stabilizes the boat and makes fishing that much more comfortable. This unit takes the rock and roll out of a vessel and is a true game changer! Capt. Creed will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat, bottled water, and sunglasses. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

We had the best half day excursion with Captain Creed and Chris! Even with a ton of boats on the water for Father’s Day, they ensured we stayed ahead of the masses and knew all the best fishing spots throughout the sound. We got to try different types of poles and baits and had a variety of catches! The boat is spacious and comfortable — a perfect day out for fishers and spectators alike!

thank you very much for the kind response. We look forward to having you guys again soon.
Our group learned so much from Captain Creed and his mate, we caught some massive striped bass, and had an amazing time. Highly recommend if you're a first timer, or an experienced angler. They're very communicative before, during, and after the charter and work really hard to accommodate you and make sure everyone catches something. We can't wait to rebook!

Boat and equipment were top notch, extremely clean and well maintained. Captain Creed and his mate Chris were knowledgable and beyond welcoming and friendly. Our group had a variety of people from almost no experience fishing and boating to others who have years on the water and every one of us learned some new stuff and had a great time. We went out, caught fish, had an awesome time and made it home safe, we cant wait to come back and book again!

You guys were a terrific group and a pleasure to have a board. Looking forward to many adventures to come.

Boy what a great time had by all; Capt Creed and his 1st Mate, Chris were attentive and so patient with our 6 person party. With a fleet of fishing boats and an anchored party fishing vessel all around us, only our boat seemed to consistently have fish on the line. I highly recommend Capt Creed and his beautiful, masterfully well maintained boat, the Bushwhacker!

Thank you Gary looking forward to our next adventure!
Captain Creed n Chris were very professional and knowledgeable about the waters and equipment.. Caught large striped bass throughout our trip

thank you again. We had a great time with you guys pleasure to have a board. You are welcome anytime.
Growing up on Long Island sound I have been fishing these waters for over 20 years. After mating for a good captain and friend I decided to fullfill my passion to fish and teach by acquiring my 100 ton master credential and start a charter of my own. We take pride in our boat and gear, keeping everything well maintained and updated as necessary. As a teenager I started fishing for bass in the sound and shark and tuna off shore. My passion has lead me to prefect all types of fishing and continue to learn and teach. please feel free to inquire if you have any questions about myself or the charter.
