You'll be fishing from our brand new 24' Raider aluminum sportfishing west coast-designed vessel, comfortably seating 6 passengers. It has downriggers, and all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for privacy and comfort. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with all of your fishing necessities.
Before coming aboard, get your local fishing license for everyone in your group so we can be sure we are following regulations and logging your catch. Buy your license online and print your license before your trip. You can ask the captain at any time if you have any questions before your trip. The fishing is absolutely amazing and some of the best in the world here in Sooke BC.
It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Had a great trip with Sooke Saltwater and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a fishing charter in the Sooke area. It was a pretty slow day for catching salmon and all the locals were having the same luck. My guide was super hard working and motivated to find fish. Later in the morning we found a couple smaller chinooks but they were just under the retention limit. If you are looking for a great fishing opportunity with great guides and or a nice saltwater cruise around the Sooke area, go with Sooke Saltwater!
My trip with Sooke Saltwater Fishing SA and Captain Regg was truly memorable and exceeded all expectations. From the moment we left the dock, Regg's knowledge, professionalism, and passion for fishing were evident. What stood out most was not just his ability to put us on fish, but his commitment to making the experience meaningful and educational. Regg was an outstanding mentor throughout the trip, patiently sharing his expertise, answering questions, and helping me better understand the techniques and decision-making that go into successful salmon fishing. He created an environment where I felt involved rather than just along for the ride. One of the highlights of the trip was when Regg trusted me to take over the steering. That level of trust was a huge honor and made the experience incredibly special. It's not every day that a captain is willing to share that responsibility, and it demonstrated the confidence and respect Regg has for the people he takes out on the water. If you're looking for more than just a fishing charter and if you want a memorable experience with a knowledgeable guide who genuinely enjoys teaching and sharing his passion, then I highly recommend fishing with Regg. I would book with him again in a heartbeat.
Captain/owner Tristan was very knowledgeable, answered TONS of questions regarding fishing methods, downriggers, bait, species of salmon, etc. He worked hard to ensure we had some fish to take home, prices are reasonable and the boat/gear is top notch.
Our sunset trip with Captain Richard was fantastic. Our 7‑ and 9‑year‑old grandchildren started out a bit reluctant, but Captain Richard knew exactly where to find chinook salmon and helped them land several good sized salmon with patience and encouragement. Their hesitance quickly turned into excitement, and by the end they were already asking to go out again with him.
