Reel, Grill & Chill Belize 

I have fished all over the world and Captain Willie is by far one of the most knowledgeable Fishing guide i have ever come across. This guy knows his stuff and put us right on the fish immediately. His tips and teaching different techniques for what works in the area were spot on. We listened and it was fish after fish coming on board. His deckhand Alexis was spot on for all of our needs and captain Willie. Captain Willie gave us the ultimate belizian fishing adventure. After a successful fishing trip we went to a private beach to cook our catch. They prepared fresh snapper ceviche, it was amazing! Then Captain and his deck hand served us roasted potatoes, coconut rice, sweet savory snapper and a flavorful barracuda. First time with barracuda, and I regret listening to everyone telling me not to eat it. It's some good fish. Captain Willie also gave us some perspective about Belize and history as he guide us through the waters. To conclude this amazing Beliezian experience, Captain took us on snorkeling adventure at the reef where his experience and knowledge kept us safe as well as entertained. I booked the full day trip for the family. It worked very well for us giving everyone something. We caught a nice variety of reef fish on the top and bottom. Captain had us on fish all day! Lunch was one of the best meals of the week. kids enjoyed the shallow flat with an abundance of shells. Snorkeling spot was pretty amazing. Better than Ho Chan for inexpierenced snorklers (much shorter swim, no fee, and still a great reef). We saw nurse sharks, rays, eels, and a nice variety of fish. The highlight was a beautiful yellow and black starfish. We couldn’t find turtles, we will leave that for the next trip. FYI trip was kid friendly (11 and 16). Would book again.

We spent the day on the water with Willie B during our honeymoon and had an absolute blast. We caught barracuda, snapper, and mackerel, and the whole experience felt laid back, authentic, and fun from start to finish. The highlight of the day was Willie cooking our catch for us on a remote beach. Hands down, it was some of the best food we had on the island — fresh, simple, and unbelievably good after a day out fishing. Between the fishing, the scenery, and the incredible meal, this ended up being one of our favorite experiences in Belize. We had an amazing time with Captain Willie. We had a group of 3 and ended up catching about 25-30 fish including a bunch of snapper and even a few decent sized baracuda. It was cool catching our own bait fish with the net and then going out and having success with them. He made us a delicious lunch served right on a private beach. Then we finished it off snorkeling where we saw nurse sharks, thousands of fish, turtles, eels, sting rays, and coral. Thanks so much for the amazing trip and the great communication before.

Went out of San Pedro early morning. Guide knew exactly where to be. We pulled ballyhoo first, which was honestly just fun to watch come out of the water, then picked up a couple leather jack that put up a real fight. The red snapper came later in the day, right when the action felt like it was slowing. Ended up being the best fish of the trip. The boat was well-rigged and the cooler was stocked. We ate the snapper that night at a spot on the water and it was about as good as fish gets.

The day started off w/Capt Willy picking me up at the beach property pier! We started off trolling and drifting unsuccessfully….then Willy took us to our 3rd spot and we started catching Snapper. After it died down we moved to a GREAT 4th location….and crushed Snapper for about a solid hour! We fished through a 20 minute rain and wind storm. Willy ensured i was safe, the boat was well positioned and that we were still catching fish!!! Capt Willy then drove me back to the beach house pier and fileted some of the Snapper that we kept. I fried them up for dinner that night and had an amazing feast with our friends that are on the trip with us….THANK YOU Capt Willy!

Willy was so wonderful! He took us to multiple places in order to catch a variety of fish. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Belize and fishing. He was incredibly patient and wonderful company for the day. We caught dozens of snappers, makrel and trigger fish (which we threw back per Belizian regulations). When we finished he cleaned our fish and recommended we take it to Rum Dog for them to cook it and they did an amazing job. We also saw manatees which he patiently drove around until we all got to see them. truly a 10/10 experience. highly recommend. coukdnt have been happier.

We had a great day on the water with Willy. He worked the boat into position several times for us to get the right current. Today was a bit windy but he found us some fish! He also gave us some fishing tips and some history about the island. Very knowledgeable. We caught some snappers and about 3 mackerels on live sardines. Then he stopped at an amazing little beach, crystal clear water, no people, no noise. He made an amazing ceviche with one of the snappers that we caught. Then he cooked us a very nice lunch: grilled fish special sauce, rice and potatoes. Delicious. But the snorkeling was even better. He used some fish heads to bring in the nurse sharks and rays! We saw lobster, lion fish, starfish, moray eel, and all of the typical reef fish. Willy swam down to show us all the interesting things. Thank you! We will be back for some more “ shark” attacks! We didn’t need to catch a certain fish, just be active and have fun. Willie made sure we were on fish as much as possible or he would move us to a new place to try. We got hot on sea trout, caught some snapper and even a small barracuda. He was very attentive to putting on new bait and helping with the tackle, techniques and took care of taking fish off the hook, placing it in a ice filled cooler and even provided us fillets of what we wanted to take back and have cooked at our resort. I would fish with him again.

Great experience from catching the bait used for fishing snapper to catching 20 snapper. Lunch was and amazing highlight. Some of the best fish we ever had. Ceviche and Mayan spiced snapper was amazing. Finished off snorkeling with sharks, eels and turtle, an amazing day all around. Great conversation, great fishing and great food, can’t ask for more!
