Captain Tayo The Epic – San Pedro
Spend the day with Captain Tayo and cast for your dreams over the flats of San Pedro! As he has logged many years of experience with the moon and tides, Captain Tayo knows these waters forwards and back.
These waters are known for Bonefish, Permit, Tarpon, Snook, Jack Crevalle, Great Barracudas, Jack Crevalle, Mackerels, Cobia, Grunt, Ladyfish, Mangrove Snapper, Catfish, and more – with any luck, you’ll find out for yourself!
On these trips, fly fishing is the best. Doesn’t matter if you are a novice or a professional. Capt. Tayo also offers trolling and bottom fishing using light tackle or spinning rods, but you may need to bring your own gear. If you don’t own a fly rod or spinning rod the captain will assist you.
You’ll be welcome aboard a 21’ Pesqueros flats boat with space for 2 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods and reels are not included, but if you don’t own one Captain Tayo will provide you. Be sure to ask about bait lures, live bait is included but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10-20% tip is customary.
You will need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring, sunglasses, sunscreen, and UV clothing. Drinks will be available for you, water, sodas, and ice. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but not provided on the package. There will be lunch and some light snacks available on board.

A Full day flats fishing!
Bonefish Bananza
Captain Tayo and his deck hand were wonderful people and are really good at their job! We did the 7 hr full day flatts fishing. Spent the early part of the morning fishing for bonefish and it was non stop action, we caught 30+ between the two of us! Then we went to catch some snapper for bait to troll for Barracuda. We caught 5 and lost a couple at the boat! Over all great fishing and great charter. Do yourself a favor and book with Captain Tayo and crew! 🤙🏽

Great day with multiple species
Took my first "flats" fishing trip and couldn't be happier with the result. We started off the day fishing for bonefish and then switched over to live bait landing two big barracuda and a horse eye jack. We chased tarpon to finish the trip and had one bite but my casting skills and high winds made presenting casts difficult. I would absolutely make this trip again if we come back to Belize

Half day on the flats!
January fishing trip
I fished two mornings with Tayo. He got me on to young tarpon both days. I had numerous shot and strikes. I touched the leader or boated tarpon each day. The first day we followed up with an hour of hot bone fishing. I had 5 fish on and boated two. We tried to fish bonefish the second day but wind and steady rain made spotting them impossible so we casted for little tarpon instead. A good choice. He is a mangrove maniac! Lol

Great Bonefishing
Fly fishing trip. Went into the trip looking for bonefish and Permit. The guides were excellent and very knowledgeable on how to spot fish and telling you where to put the fly. Caught many bonefish and missed my opportunity at a couple permit. Would highly recommend! Permit are tricky bastards

Flats Bonefish on the Fly
Great day stalking Bonefish in the flats south of Ambergris. Tayo and Hansi were a pleasure to be with and worked hard all day to keep putting me on the fish. Bonefish on the fly in flats was the target and they delivered, along with shots at Permit and a spell of Juvenile Tarpon stalking in Mangroves. Very enjoyable day - thank you 🙏
