Captain Tayo The Epic – San Pedro 

Captain Tayo knows where the fish are. We kicked it off with a torrential downpour, thunder and lightning (rainy season). Then the clouds parted and we hooked into bonefish until my arm almost fell off. To end the trip we searched for permit, with only a few spooky shots and no hook ups. After that we broke out the 11 weight and took shots at several good sized but unfortunately, uninterested tarpon. 6 hours flew by and it was time to get back to town for the Independence Day festivities, or else we’d probably still be out there trying to get that elusive tarpon to eat..

The captian gave me a good deal, pricewise! my main goal was to catch a tarpon, but unfortunately, we were not successful. We ended up finding a rolling group of them, but couldn’t successfully hook on. The captain searched really hard to find more, but we were not successful. We stayed an hour past the allotted time and I had to call it quits. You could tell he really wanted me to get that tarpon. Besides that I did catch three barracuda, two bonefish and a Jack. I appreciated the captains passion for fishing and commitment to getting me the catch. I never really saw him on his phone. It seemed like he was always looking at the water trying to find signs of fish. I appreciate that because you don’t see that a lot nowadays.

Our experience fishing in Belize with Captain Tayo and his crew was absolutely outstanding. During our visit, we spent three full days on the water with them, and every day was memorable. The crew was patient, friendly, and made sure the kids felt involved and safe while still keeping the adventure exciting. I had an incredible experience out on the water with Captain Tayo. His expertise is undeniable; not only did he help me land my first barracuda and bonefish, but he also put me on the ultimate prize—a permit. Beyond the catches, I walked away with a wealth of knowledge about flats fishing and a newfound respect for the skill required to complete a Belizean trifecta. It was a truly humbling and rewarding day.

Firstly what an absolute gentleman. Some guides like to scream and shout at you however, Tayo has a very calm demeanor and still gets the job done. Tayo worked hard to put us on the fish with great instructions. We caught bones and tarpon but not surprisingly we didn't see the elusive permit. Tayo is an excellent guide and I couldn't recommend him enough.

Tayo, and his deckhand who's name alludes me, were AMAZING!! Got us on bonefish minutes from the dock......worked schools all morning. So hard to leave fish to find fish, but we wanted a species day and they provided.....got on a school of Permit and landed a beauty!!! Just the right amount of chatter, instruction and playful banter! Great guys......be ready for a workout and practice your long casts, you'll need it!!!

Haziel was an amzing guide, spotted bonefish from far away and put us in the perfect position to get a shot at them. The boat positioning was perfect all day long even though the wind was strong. Highly recommend to any fisherman, would absolutely book this trip again, the only thing I would change would be to do a full day instead of a half!

Me and the wife booked a 7 hr Flats trip and we could NOT be happier we did! Caught many Bone fish and hooked a moster Baracuda, all while letting us snorkle by the Barrier Reef. I have done many fishing charters, and this was hands down the best day! If you book with Captain Tayo, you will not be disappointed!

Captain Tayo did a great job with two novice fishermen!! We spent a half day covering the lagoon for all types of fish. Captain Tayo was interesting and has a large family presence on the island that dates back over 50 years. I would highly recommend booking a fishing trip with Captain Tayo!!

Tayo was awesome and was so great teaching my 9 year old how to cast and catch his first fish ever. I recommend!
