Pel@gicHB
Spend the day with Pel@gicHB and let them show you what makes the fishing in Placencia so memorable!
King Mackerel (Kingfish), Permit, Yellowtail Amberjack, Blue Marlin, Great Barracuda, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Swordfish, Goliath Grouper, Sailfish, Mangrove Snapper, Spanish Mackerel, Mutton Snapper, and more could be biting, depending on the season.
On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Kory can also show you kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing and bowfishing.
Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Also remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks provided on board.
Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Pel@gicHB!
