Lucky Strike Charters
“Lucky Strike Charters” welcomes all angling enthusiasts to experience the thrill of fishing the Chesapeake Bay and Potomac River! We launch out of a few different marinas through out the season depending where the best fishing locations are. It’s the ideal opportunity to have a fun and action-packed experience with one of the best guides in the area!
Hop aboard a 46’ Markley pilothouse boat, which can accommodate up to 17 anglers. This seaworthy fishing machine is rigged with all the top navigational electronics including GPS and Fishfinder. Make good use of the outriggers to cover a larger surface area and use the anchoring system to stay in place.
What’s more this vessel is wheelchair accessible and is fitted with a toilet to make long trips more comfortable. The icebox keeps your catch fresh and the live well helps to entice the bite.
You’ll target a variety of legendary Chesapeake fish in the bay’s inshore and nearshore waters. Use light tackle to hook Striped Bass and Bluefish and brush up on your bottom fishing skills to hook Norfolk Spot and White Perch. Fall is the ideal time to go jigging for Striped Bass and to target trophy Bass.
Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a complete novice, Capt. Shawn is happy to accommodate your skill level. He’ll provide all the gear you need for a successful day and at the end of the trip, he’ll clean and fillet your catch. All you’ll want to bring are any drinks and snacks you’d like to enjoy.
The crew works hard to make sure you have a good time and a 15–20% tip is customary. Experience one of the most prolific fisheries in the US with Lucky Strike Charters!

It was a beautiful day to be out. This is the second trip my guys and I have Booked with Capt. Shawn and he never disappoints! The trip before us complained that the fish weren’t biting, but Captain Shawn made a huge effort to make sure our afternoon trip had different results. We went to multiple spots, and pulled in multiple rock fish and blue fish throughout the evening. He’s very knowledgeable of the waters and my group truly enjoyed him and first mate! Great experience.

This was our first year having major success for our annual father’s day trip. My dad, uncles and cousins truly enjoyed themselves. Once again, Captain Shawn knew the exact location of where to go to find the most fish. We caught tons of rockfish but had to throw tons back because they were too big. We eventually caught our quota and everybody was satisfied! Amazing job Captain Shawn and first mate.
Went out for a bachelor party and had a blast out on the water! The crew Sean and Aaron made sure we had a great time. Their fishing charter was exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend!!

Kenny and Aaron had the boat ready to go on time and we're extremely polite & helpful all day. They worked several spots until everyone caught keepers. The "hook and cook" experience at the Happy Harbor restaurant was the perfect way to finish the trip. We tried both fried and blackened and both were excellent. Highly recommend!!!

Overall, this was a great trip. I spent quality time with friends. We we're able to bring food and drinks and we did catch fish. some of the things that were noted by the passengers were clean environment, spacious, and friendliness. Unfortunately, fishing was a little slow, and we were trolling, so in six hours, we only caught two fish. but again, we had a great time. And we still find that it's not all about the fishing. It's about spending quality time with your friends and family. The thing that people should know when booking a trip like this is that it's not a professional fishing trip/boat. This is amateur fishing. You may may not get any fish, or you may get 100 fish. You may not get the biggest fish. Nature doesn't bend to the people's will. it's all about spending time with the people you go with and enjoying yourself. take the pictures, enjoy the sunrise. have some great food and drink and make memories. And that's what these trips are about. if you're looking to catch the two foot fish, then you're not on the right boat to do so. basically, this is not a professional fishing trip. This is for fun. I've been doing bookings like this for over thirty years, i recommend them. and I recommend this one as well. Go forth, go fishing, and have fun
