SportfishingCancun invites you to spend a day on the crystal clear waters of Cancun, Mexico with Captain Romeo Pelayo. This charter is operated by a friendly crew led by Captain Romeo who says their company is dedicated to customer service and motivated at the same time to make a pleasant trip for everyone on board.
Fishing takes place aboard a 26-foot Grady White Offshore sport fisher originally built in 1996 and restored in 2017. On this boat, you will find two swivel chairs, a cushioned bench, a half enclosed cabin with plenty of shade, a bed, and a toilet for your convenience. There is an icebox for you catch, a livewell for the bait, outriggers, and downriggers for trolling, snorkeling equipment, and all the safety features needed.
SportfishingCancun offers half and full trips which first take you bait fishing so you can get a feel for the equipment and learn how to cast and reel in. Once you've caught the bait, you ride out to the near fishing grounds where fish such as Barracuda, Jack Crevalle, Triggerfish, Silvery Grunt, Bonito, and Yellowtail Snapper await. This is a half day 5-hour trip.
Captain Romeo can also take you offshore, on an 8-hour trip, where big fish like Mahi Mahi, Red Snapper, Giant Trevally, Yellowtail Amberjack, and Almaco Jack can be found.
SportfishingCancun includes rods, reels, tackle, and lures on all trips. Once the trip is over, you can have a fish cleaning and filleting service if you want to take you fish home or to a local restaurant for dinner. Captain Romeo has a first mate who accompanies you on offshore trips and helps you with reeling in your fish.

This is our 2nd time on the Mamacita, our previous trip was in July of 2025. It was a great experience and our August 2026 trip exceeded expectations. Captain Romeo fished hard even though the seas were very rough . By the end of the day, our fish count included a sailfish, bonita, horse eye jack, yellow tail snapper and red snapper. Deckhand Diego make us ceviche from the bonita which was delicious. We will be back in 2027 for another trip on the Mamacita !!
Took my 8-year-old daughter on a 4-Hour fishing trip with Mamacita, we had an awesome time. Rambo and Diego are great and very knowledgeable about the area and where to find the good fish. They got us hooked up on four beautiful bluefin tuna and a nice sized barracuda. Was so cool watching them help my little girl hook and land the fish. They were great with her. This was her first deep sea fishing experience and has never caught anything bigger than a small to medium rainbow trout. This just blew all of them out of the water. I think she's hooked now. Huge thank you going out to Rambo and Diego again. We will definitely be contacting you guys for another fishing trip next time we are out in Cancun.
These guys made our fishing excursion the best day of our vacation! We caught more fish than I expected (~18 between two of us in a half day trip). 5 different species, and they filleted the ones we wanted and took us to the nearby restaurant where we had them cooked in a fantastic lunch! Would absoutely recommend and hope to book with them again next time we're here.
i highly recommend this group of guys, for your fishing trip, these guys really treated us with respect and addressed all fishing goals, they pull no punches. (tight lines)
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Service was top notch! We had a blast as a family of 5! We caught 5 Barracudas and one massive Red Snapper! A memory for the books and the kids loved it even though they got motion sickness 🤣 The crew took the kids to the clearest water and let them swim- We couldnt have asked for a better crew!
