Viking Fishing Charters - PV

Los Peines
Puerto Vallarta JA, Mexico

Viking is a 25’ Mako custom sport fishing boat, powered by two new Mercury 4 stroke engines, so that you don’t have to waste time getting to where the fish are. The vessel is outfitted with tuna tubes and a live bait tank, and has a maximum capacity of 4 passengers. Viking sports a conventional array of navigational electronics, such as GPS, radio as well as a multimedia sound system for your enjoyment on board.

Captain Victor uses quality fishing equipment to make sure you have the best chance of getting that prized game fish on the boat. He utilizes Shimano reels and Callstar rods, as well as various other types of tackle, to accommodate a variety of fishing situations you might find yourself in. Depending on the duration of the trip, you’ll either fish inside the bay for Tuna, Dorado, Jacks, Bonitos and more, or troll far offshore for the likes of Billfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi and other popular pelagics.

Your Captain, Victor Manuel Santana Ceja, is a veteran angler coming from a family of fishermen. Victor has been fishing the abundant waters of Puerto Vallarta for more than 18 years, and is fluent in all types of fishing techniques, particularly trolling and live bait fishing, but also popping, jigging and more. He prides himself with providing his guests with an exciting and memorable fishing adventure, which many of Victor’s repeat customers will happily attest to.

Puerto Vallarta is considered one of the best deep sea fishing destinations in Mexico and beyond. A large variety of migratory pelagics frequent these waters, including Blue, Black and Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Wahoo, Dorado, Tuna, Roosterfish, Amberjack and many more. These famous hotspots are also responsible for a variety of IGFA records, and can accommodate all sorts of fishermen, regardless of your skill and experience level.

Instruction on where to meet were no clear Caplain assumed that if I was staying a Grand Mayan I would be at the one closest to resort. I went to the PV Marina as the website stated. The error was corrected after a 45 min delay. I was asked if I wanted to be left off at the closer marina I said of course only to find out that it was a priviate marina and cost me $11 us to step on land. I was not told this until it was to late and the marina security demanded $11 us. Then I had to take a taxi for $7 us to the Grand Mayan It would have been cheeper if I was to go back to the PV Marina . Oh yes no fish!!!

We had used Viking Fishing Charters last year and we had a fantastic experience with both Carlos and Manuel so we knew we would use them again this year.  We caught the same fish as we did last year (Yellow tailed jacks) and 1 bonita.  We were hoping to catch something huge like a sailfish but as they say, it’s called fishing, not catching!  We still had a great time and Carlos was great at switching things up.  He did a wonderful job cleaning our fish for us and he dropped us right off at the beach in front of our resort.  Would definitely recommend :)
