Built For Speed Salmon Fishing Charters offers year-round saltwater angling adventures in West Vancouver, Canada. Local waters are home to all 5 species of Pacific Salmon. Chinook/Coho/Sockeye/Pink & Chum all migrate thru the area. BuiltforSpeed is located close & central to all of the best local hotspots.
BuiltforSpeed is owned, operated & maintained by licenced Captain, Chris Speed. With 40years of experience mastering & fishing local Vancouver waters in all seasons. BuiltforSpeed is a 24’ Zeta Marine express cruiser a fully equipped, covered, stable & fast fishing machine. There is plenty of comfortable covered seating space for four anglers to enjoy a day out on the water. A 330HP Mercuiser383 inboard on a BravoIII leg & a quite/fumeless 20HP Tohatsu trolling motor, dialed down to get the exact speed required when trolling for Salmon. Included are 2 Garmin 12" fishfinder/GPS screens, Standard Horizon VHF, AMFM stereo, private toilet, fridge&cooler. 4 Scotty HP downriggers with light 10.5 ft rods & a large inventory of spoons, hootchies, baitteaser heads&flashers all rigged&tied by Captain Chris contribute to a excellent catch rate on every trip!
Trips are 5 hours & can be extended to any length if desired. Departing from Horseshoe Bay it is the premium location that provides an excellent opportunity for Chinook & all species only minutes from the dock. Trolling for Salmon is standard practice in Vancouver. You will be provided with quality rods, reels, tackle, lures & bait. Upon your return, your catch will be processed/packaged&iced for transportation in order to enjoy at the table. Air travel with fish is OK.
Required is a valid printed B.C.tidal water license with Salmon tag. Please bring your snacks & refreshments with you. Remember a hat, sunglasses&warm clothing. Captain Chris Speed is an expert and a super nice guy. He has fished out of Horseshoe Bay all his life. You will not find anyone more knowledgeable. My wife and I had never been salmon fishing and Chris explained everything from selecting spots to fish to the best way to catch and release. We most highly recommend Captain Chris and Built for Speed.

We had an awesome experience with Chris. From the minute we booked, Chris had great communication with us. He called us before the trip started to let us know about fishing licenses and what we needed to do prior. We caught tons of fish, from smaller chinook salmon to a nice large keeper size fish. We were hesitant about catch and release but it turned out to be great!! Would 100% recommend this trip to anyone looking to have a good time and catch some fish. Views were breathtaking!!! Will be back!

A trip of a lifetime
Had a great time time fishing with Chriss He contacted me way before my trip to make sure I am all set for the trip and walked me through all the required paperwork ( fishing licenses). We were not lucky enough to catch a keeper but we had a blash catching and releasing Chinooks and Wild Cohos. He explained all the safety aspects and how to use all the fishing tackle. If you want to catch some salmon and have fun while doing it, make sure to reach out to Chris.

Best Fishing Experience Ever!!!
Thank you Capt Chris for an experience we can look back on as a complete success. We booked a half day with Built For Speed by reading the many positive reviews. When we got to the dock, we were met with a friendly welcome and after introductions, we were given a display of the many safety features aboard. Then a comprehensive demonstration on how to correctly and safely handle the reeling in of any catch. This paid off as we certainly had a great days catch. Questions we asked were met with answers that displayed Chris’ comprehensive knowledge and experience. On return to the dock after what had been an exciting and totally successful fishing trip, Chris (after pics of course), cleaned and filleted the fish and recommended how we should cook them. All in all, we completely and without reservation recommend Built For Speed with Capt Chris for your fishing experience

Great experience with Chris at Built for Speed
I brought my two nephews along with my family on a trip to Vancouver and we decided to do a 1/2 day salmon fishing charter. Chris was fantastic. We went out early and immediately catch multiple. When it started to slow he took us to great spot after spot. He was a fantastic knowledgeable guide and the boys and I had a blast. We will definitely be coming back and fishing with Chris again! It was a day to remember! Thank you!
