+16Taymo Charters invites you to spend a day on the waters of the Western Basin of Lake Ontario with Captain Jay Wilson. This full-service guided Salmon fishing charter operates on Lake Ontario from April to October.
Captain Jay has over 30 years of experience fishing and guiding on Lake Ontario and will provide an excellent time for everyone onboard. Experiencing the fight of fresh water Salmon and Trout species with the Toronto skyline in view is just one of the perks of fishing with Jay. You can fish in one of the biggest and most successful Salmon Tournaments during July and August every year, too!
Salmon fishing on Lake Ontario out of Oakville, Canada is best from June through August; Steelhead fishing is good from April through October, and Brown and Lake Trout are best in May, and then again in September and October.
FIshing is done aboard Captain Jay’s 27’ Cruiser Inc Offshore sport fishing boat, originally built in 1989, and restored in 2016. Powered by a 350 HP Mercruiser inboard engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 30 knots, this vessel is very fast. The onboard Lowrance HDS GPS and a twin Lowrance/Simrad fishfinder will help you locate the best fishing spots. The vessel is equipped with all the safety features you might need, a livewell for the bait, a bed, and a toilet.
Taymo Charters will include rods, reels, tackle, and lures on all trips. There will be a first mate to help you reel in your catch, and they will also clean and fillet your catch once the trip is over. For your convenience, Taymo Charters are child-friendly.

"I'm Working Late" Trip on July 16, 2024
My wife and I booked a trip to Canada and of course had to fish in Lake Ontario. We found this charter and decided to book it. Thankfully we did. The knowledge of the captain and crew was incredible and you could really tell they knew what they were talking about. They knew the perfect temperatures for catching and switched the lures accordingly. Clearly they are experienced fishermen. Even though the weather wasn’t great, they made sure to make the most of our trip and we ended up catching 2 massive king salmon that we cooked up for dinner. It was truly an incredible trip and will 100% be booking it again next time we are in Toronto.

Captain Jay and First Mate Brandon made this trip AWESOME! They were incredibly accommodating (we were in from out of town so they even brought a cooler and ice for us!) and so fun to be around, we felt like we were just hanging out with friends we had known for years. Everyone in our group caught at least one fish and they were all such a nice size that we only took 2 home. We ate fresh salmon for the rest of our meals on our trip! Definitely recommend booking with Jay... catching salmon was a bucket list item for me and now I can scratch that off my list!! Making two new friends was a bonus. Also fishingbooker was new to me and I was a little nervous about booking a charter online, but everything was super smooth so don't hesitate, you'll have an amazing time! Ask Jay and Brandon for stories about their favorite charter, if they don't say my group, I'll take this review back. (Haha, kidding!!!) **hidden content**% A+ all smiles and great memories!

Great Family Fishing Trip With Captain Jay
5 Hour Trip (AM) on July 29, 2024
Our family was in from Chicago for vacation. We booked a last minute charter because our boys really wanted to catch a big fish. We went out early to beat the heat and had a slow start. The fish started biting and we were able to bring in some big ones. My youngest reeled in a 32-1/4” rainbow trout (11-1/2lbs) and my middle son brought in an 18-1/2 lb. Chinook. My oldest got a smaller rainbow trout but it broke free right when we brought it in The ol’ one that got away. It was a great experience for the boys and they already have asked if we can go back. We will.
