Rules & Regulations

Every angler over the age of 17 needs a license to fish in Texan waters, so grab your saltwater permit before coming aboard and away you go. If you want to catch a famous Bull Redfish (over 28 inches), then you’ll also need a Red Drum tag, which you can purchase alongside your license. Other than that, your professional guide will make sure that you stick to the latest bag and size limits.

January
It’s a time for new beginnings, so why not get hooked on fishing? The inshore waters are full of Redfish, Trout, and Sheepshead just calling your name, so get ready to head home with a treat.
February
While some prized Marlin may entice you offshore, the best fishing can be found in the shallow waters of the Corpus Christi and Aransas Bays. Get ready to land a whole host of tasty fish.
March
It's all about inshore fishing as winter draws to a close, with plenty of tasty fish just waiting to be caught. Get your fish on and land some delicious Sheepshead, Trout, and Redfish to take home.
April
Whether nearshore or inshore, the fishing is thrilling. Some monster Cobia and Kingfish will make their way towards the bays, so get ready for a fight to fill the boat.
May
Under the shining sun, you’ll see the fishing heat up, too. The season is in full swing and you’ll have the chance to go after some brutish Amberjacks, Cobias, and Mackerels.
June
With all the incredible fishing, it’s easy to forget about the sun. Make sure to protect yourself as you spend your day focusing on the stunning fishing that summer yields.
July
Anglers from all over the world will descend upon Aransas Pass and Port Aransas for the Gulf Coast’s oldest fishing tournament. Why not test your skills at the Deep Sea Roundup?
August
Nearshore is where it’s at as the summer winds to a close. There’ll be no sign of it slowing down as you go after stunning Snappers, Amberjacks, and Kingfish along the Gulf’s reefs and wrecks.
September
The waters are at their hottest following the summer rays, and a whole load of new fish come to the fore. Go after Tarpon and Bull Reds in the shallows, along with delicious Mahi Mahi and Mackerel further out.
October
Flounder joins the Redfish inshore to add another dimension to the question, “What’s for dinner?” Fish the shallows or head offshore to take on some monster Tuna and Mahi Mahi.

November
There’s still plenty of options for a culinary delight, be you offshore in pursuit of Tuna or inshore going after Redfish, Trout, Flounder, and Sheepshead. Tailor your trip to get the most out of the water.
December
Who wants a white Christmas when you can spend the whole month fishing? The fish don’t let up, so make the most of the end of the year and explore the rich bays for a range of delicious fish.

This was super easy in and out and didn't have to ride in the boat for half hour to start fishing and to get to multiple spots. Liked all of that. What surprised me was how far down to Corpus from Rockport it was. Question your guide ahead about what he goes after and is he flexible and what is biting lately. Always good to have proper expectations. Aransas Pass not the most scenic with a good bit of refinery shoreline but hey, good fishing

I am not knowledgeable enough to offer any meaningful advice. But I suppose everybody knows that it is just too hot to fish during the middle of the day in August. A morning or late afternoon trip would be more pleasant.

There is a LOT of quality water in the area. I particularly like wade-fishing the flats, and there are literally thousands of acres available. We had perfect weather. Not crazy hot, beautiful water temperature, and lots of fishing opportunity. Highly recommended.

I would recommend Aransas Pass because it is away from the tourist crowd of Port Aransas. We stayed in PA but vying for a fishing trip there was crazy. Easy access to the harbor in Aransas Pass.

BE SURE TO UNDERSTAND THE TYPE OF FISHING YOU WILL BE OFFERED. SOME GUIDES ONLY OFFER FISHING WITH LIVE BAIT WHILE OTHERS PREFER TO FISH WITH ARTIFICALS. BRING YOUR WATER AND SNACKS NOT YOUR BEER TO THE BOAT. CATCHING FISH IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THE TRIP BUT SOME TIMES THE FISH JUST DON;T CO-OPERATE. NOT THE GUIDES FAULT. ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS TIP YOUR GUIDE.

Expect a great trip with Captain Larry Bell, he will give you a great day on the water filled with quality keeper size redfish and trout. Plan on wearing clothes that you feel comfortable wadefishing in. Remember to shuffle your feet. Never had any problems with stingrays but always better to be safe. Bring lots of sunscreen and polarized glasses to be able to see top water baits used on the flats without hurting your eyes.

Capt. David Lee is a fishing professional in every way. He worked hard to put us on fish and provided bait, drinks and entertaining stories all morning. He's been fishing the area for more than thirty years and knows the local waters. It helps that he also thinks like a fish. We're going out with him again.

Capt Russ is a fisherman's captain. On a challenging bite day he worked hard to get us on good fish, going from spot to spot . He knew the bay very well and had numerous spots. We worked for it but wound up with a good stringer of Specks. Plenty of live bait, very efficient and professional/friendly. No shortcut here.......Russ is there for the time you hired him for. He works for you and is just a gentleman. Easy fellow to fish with and I've fished a long time. I'd hired Russ again

We had a great time fishing with Henry, he was exceptionally knowledgeable, explaining the ins and outs of what we were doing and how to properly fish the areas we were in. He worked like crazy to keep us on the fish, and even on such a hot day we had a great time. He's got a very nice boat with great gear. My dad, my 12 year old son, my brother in law and I all enjoyed the trip. Worth every penny and I can't recommend Henry enough.
