Great Family Day!
Captain Shaun did a great job on the water for our family. He is an awesome teacher and answered all the kids' questions. We fished for multiple species using different methods and had a wonderful morning!
- 5.0/5(4 Hour Trip –Electric Reel Fishing)
Fun and easy fishing!
We went out with a few adults and a few kids using electric reels, so we could catch edible fish. The crew was very patient with the kids and made sure they each caught a few - dorado and blackmouths. They then sent us into the hills to a small restaurant where the fish were expertly prepared and the families got eat the rewards, which made the experience even more meaningful. Highly recommended!

About Scorpionfish fishing
Scorpionfish fishing puts you up close with a hidden reef predator. These fish blend into rocks and coral, then strike fast when food passes by. Anglers target them for the challenge, the careful approach they demand, and their firm, tasty fillets when local rules allow harvest.
Most trips focus on reef fishing and bottom fishing around rocky structure, ledges, and wrecks. Small jigs, soft plastics, or natural baits like shrimp and cut bait work well. Present your lure slowly and keep it near the bottom. Where legal, spearfishing can be effective, but always use proper protective gear and training.
Expect a patient, detail-driven day. Moves are short as you work spot to spot, and bites can be subtle. Light spinning tackle with sensitive rods helps you feel the take. Bring polarized sunglasses to read the structure, sun protection, and grippy shoes. Use a dehooker or long-nose pliers, and wear puncture-resistant gloves. Avoid the spines and follow your captain’s handling guidance at all times.
Before you go, check local rules for licenses, permits, and seasons. Some Scorpionfish species are protected or have strict harvest limits. Size and bag limits vary by area, and regulations can change. Confirm the latest requirements with local authorities and your captain before your trip.
