Fantastic Fishing Trip (Sean & Jasper)

From start to finish a very well organised morning fishing trip with brilliant communications. First time sea fishing for my 9yr old son and myself and we loved it. The morning was much cooler and also got to watch the sunrise. The captain was extremely welcoming, knowledgable and super friendly. We caught plenty of puffer fish, red mullet, sea perch and then the more rare pig fish and a lion fish! Good value for money, great experience and fantastic memories made. Thanks Socrates⭐️

About Lionfish fishing

Lionfish are striking reef predators known for their bold stripes and venomous spines. Lionfish fishing lets you help local reefs while bringing home great-tasting fillets. Many anglers target them to control invasive populations and enjoy a fun, hands-on challenge.

Most Lionfish are caught by spearfishing on reefs, wrecks, and rocky ledges. Snorkeling works well in shallow, clear water. Scuba divers can reach deeper spots and stay on target longer. Some anglers also use light tackle with small jigs or bait near structure during reef fishing or bottom fishing.

Expect a careful, close-range hunt rather than a long boat ride. You will stalk fish around coral heads and crevices, then take a quick, precise shot. This suits adventurous first-timers and experienced divers alike. Bring puncture-resistant gloves, a secure container or zookeeper tube, and sun protection. Handle fish with care; the spines are venomous, but the meat is safe when properly cleaned.

Rules vary by location, so check local fishing license and permit needs before you go. Ask your captain about any season, gear, and harvest regulations that apply to Lionfish fishing. Always follow local guidelines for safe handling and disposal of spines.
