Tautog season opens this month, the weather is improving every day, and that means a lot of fishing fights in your near future. Bottom fishing is very productive in April, and the Bass bite is also good.

It&rsquo;s hot and muggy in the bay, but there&rsquo;s nothing like some first-class fishing action to freshen you up. Bluefish, Bonito, Little Tunny, and Stripers are biting left and right, with other bottom dwellers following close behind.

With the holiday season fast approaching, you&rsquo;ll find fewer fish in the bay. It&rsquo;s getting very cold outside, so going fishing in Narragansett Bay this time of year might not be the best decision. If you just have to scratch that itch, dress warmly and target Tautog and Cod.

The waters are still not too friendly for fishermen, which is why locals don&rsquo;t usually go fishing in Narragansett Bay in February. Maybe, if the day is unusually warm, there might be some Cod action.

The beginning of the year isn&rsquo;t a good time to go fishing in the bay. It will probably be freezing on the water, and you won&rsquo;t be allowed to target most of the species. Better to wait for warmer weather!

The middle of the summer is probably the best time to fish Narragansett Bay! Bluefishing is at its peak, as well as Bass fishing. Everything else, from Bonito, Cod, and Fluke to Black Seabass is out there for the taking.

With summer right around the corner, you better believe that fishing is excellent on the bay. Catch Bass around rocks and ledges, or go after aggressive Bluefish, Black Seabass, and Fluke. The Tautog season is closed until August.

It&rsquo;s slowly getting warmer in Rhode Island, but the waters can still get quite choppy, and the wind chills are strong. Flounder season is officially open, and you can find good numbers of Cod out there.

May marks the beginning of the high fishing season on Narragansett Bay. You&rsquo;re welcome to hit the water and target just about anything you fancy, including Stripers, Tautog, Bluefish, Cod, and more.

Most of the migratory fish aren&rsquo;t very fond of cold waters, so they&rsquo;ll be leaving the bay or simply becoming more apathetic. Thankfully, Black Bass and Tautog are still very hungry, and they&rsquo;ll show you good times on the waves.

The cold front from the Atlantic is cooling down the temperatures and the water, so there&rsquo;s a shift on the fishing front. Tautog, Cod, and Black Seabass take center stage, with plenty of Bluefish and Stripers still out there.

The summer is slowly ending, the air is crisp, and fishing is fantastic. Bass can sometimes be elusive, but the hunt is worth the effort because there are some giants out there. Bluefishing is top-notch in September as well.

Rhode Island boasts ample fishing opportunities and, if you&rsquo;re looking to explore them all, fishing in Narragansett Bay might be the adventure you need. This gorgeous bay is 26 miles long and brimming with game fish that make for an excellent opponent in the tug-of-war. Not to mention that most of them are also delicious, so it&rsquo;s a win-win situation.

	What can you target in Narragansett Bay? The locals come here for superb Bass action year-round &ndash; Largemouth, Smallmouth, and Striped Bass are all on the menu. Stripers in particular like to move around a lot, and you&rsquo;ll have the best luck finding big ones in late spring, and sometimes in the fall.

	While Bass are the frontrunners of the bay, Bluefish, Flounder (Fluke), Tautog, Black Seabass, and Scup are all there for the taking. You may even run into Little Tunny, Cod, and Bonito &ndash; it all depends on what fishing technique you prefer. Cod, Black Seabass, and Tautog are popular catches when you&rsquo;re bottom fishing.

	Not to much surprise, where there&rsquo;s fish, there are fishing charters to take you to them. Guides on the bay usually offer a variety of trips and there&rsquo;s something for everyone&rsquo;s taste. From half day excursions well-suited for families, to full day options that are reserved for more experienced anglers, you&rsquo;ll easily find something that suits you.

	Visit Warwick, South Kingstown, Providence, or Narragansett and you&rsquo;ll have a good choice of charters.
