My original date we had to postpone due to wind, which worked out perfect since we rescheduled for opening morning of Amberjack season. Caught some lane snapper while we waited for a dive boat to get off the wreck. As soon as they were done, we had lines, and a fish on in a few minutes. Ended up getting two more after that. I’ve caught a lot of fish, but that experience was unmatched. I lost the mahi of a lifetime (nobodies fault), which was a bummer, but still an awesome story to tell. Was cool seeing how exctied the guys were when we had it on. I got a nice grouper, which was one of my goals for the trip. Overall, was an awesome day. They are both super knowledgable about fishing and the area in general. I was by myself so I only did a 3/4 day, but I really wish I would have done the full day. They fileted my fish out for me, even recommended a place to get it all vacuum sealed to take it home. Highly recommend LaCosta charters.

Let’s start with the fact that Captain Patrick was really responsive to the app and all the questions you could throw at him. Secondly, his first mate/deckhand could not be a better duo, they had the best personalities and treated my family of all ages the way you wish anyone would with respect. That being said we got the best fishing experience you could get, from catching kingfish, Spanish mackerel to even latching into a shark we could not even get to the boat! Fought it for at least 45 min, never in my life would I think I would fight a shark. The deckhand even passed the rod around for everyone to have a try at the shark! Unbelievable! Anyways Captain Patrick and Brad are definitely someone to charter your experience. No doubt spread the word for these great guys. We will be back guaranteed! Thanks guys..

Met up with the captain and first mate and Captain Patrick ran us out to his first location and after the Captain and first mate Brad went over how they rig the rods and why we drop the baits down and we immediately started catching fish.

We caught at least 10 different species of fish and brought back enough to feed 8 of us for dinner.

Captain and mate also suggested a hook and cook restaurant that cooked our catch for 10 bucks and we go two sides.

The crew was personable, knowledgeable, and we talked fishing, football and baseball throughout the day.

Highly recommend the captain and boat.

Captain Patrick and Brad were fantastic!  They were patient with a group of mainly novice fishermen and made sure we were all able to enjoy the experience. We did the 6 hour excursion and went out to try to find ‘the big one’ for a while and then moved to another spot for some bottom fishing. We were able to catch plenty of fish for a couple of meals. Captain Patrick told us the species as we caught them and both he and Brad were knowledgeable and personable. I would not hesitate to fish with them again. We all had a great time.

Great cap’n and mate, and good day on the water on a well-equipped and comfortable boat. Quality tackle, and if anything, the mate made the fishing a little too hands-off for me but just right for me two boys. We caught some mackerel, a Bonita, and some blue runners on the troll and my boys enjoyed the day. Thanks to Captain Patrick and mate Brad!
