Background
I was born and raised in Key West, and started fishing with my grandfather at the tender age of 8 years old. My grandfather taught me how to fish, and instilled in me a great love and respect for the ocean. As I grew I knew that this is what I wanted to do with my life. As soon as I was able to shake my parents notion that one day I would head off to college, I began to fish in earnest. I started in the commercial industry trapping, diving, and hand lining. Though I enjoyed that life immensely I also enjoy showing people a good time, and showing off my craft. which led me into the charter boat industry. I went from first mate to owner of 4 charter boats at historical charterboat row. I have learned from the best in the industry, and have passed my knowledge onto my crews. I believe that all fishermen are show offs. They know that it is not easy to go fishing and actually catch fish, and that's what they do. Come on out and hang with our showoffs, I promise you will be entertained.

Fishing Reports

Sailfish on the reef
Sailfish on the reef
Jan 16, 2017 Key West
Key West fishing has been red hot on the reef this week. The ballyhoo are moving in on our shallow reefs in huge numbers, and with them the predators are sure to follow. We have been catching barracuda, cero mackerel , kingfish, and sailfish. Picture this - we are nearing the reef and in the distance we can see the frigate birds diving and circling near a low water reef. As we approach we can see the ballyhoo being driven out of the water in wave after wave, and the frigate birds diving to the water to pick the tasty morsels right out of the air. Underneath, the predators await the inevitable splash of their prey returning to the water. Nearer still, we can now make out the cobalt blue form of the sailfish as he rises from the depth to feed. There is no greater thrill in the fishing world than seeing a group of sailfish feeding on the reef. Because they are feeding in 5 to 20 feet of water you can watch as they dart around setting up their prey for the attack. First, light blue as they try to blend in with there surroundings. Then, cobalt blue as they rise from the depth, their sail raised high, they now corral the bait and move in for the kill. The first thing to know is you better have live ballyhoo ready to go - they will not look at anything else when they are in this kind of frenzy. The next thing to know is to be aggressive, this is one of the most intense types of fishing you can do on the reef. These fish are moving fast and you must be ready to react quickly. Please book with us. Let us entertain you.
