I have been on multiple Charters around the US.  My son and I had a blast.  Capt Dick and mate Charlie knew where to go, what to use and what to do to catch many fish.  The Captain provided details about Narragansett Bay and the areas we fished and provided some extra history.  My son enjoyed the impromptu Q & A sessions to learn more about fishing.  Though he has caught shark, flounder, pirch, small mouth and mackerel this was his best trip, so it made it our best trip.  We used the Captain’s cooking tips for a dinner where it is the first time my son ate part of our catch.  Charlie was great and help to keep things moving along as we caught fish and quickly got back to jigging.

We had a great outing with Captain Dick and his grandson Charlie.  We caught so many blues and stripers; our family of 6 each caught 3 or so as Captain Dick knew the best spots to jig.  The weather was great as well so it made for a perfect outing for a morning trip.  I’d highly recommend chartering with Captain Dick and his crew they were entertaining and very knowledgeable about the waters and the history of the area

This was, unfortunately, one of the most unpleasant charter experiences I’ve had. While the trip started with a friendly welcome, the rest of the experience was disappointing.

Fish handling practices were poor — fish were gutted alive, left in buckets of salt water for hours without ice, and most were not cleaned unless I did it myself. Despite my polite request to brain and bleed fish for humane reasons and meat quality, it was treated as an unusual request rather than standard good practice.

The worst part was when I accidentally dropped a rod overboard. I immediately apologized and offered to pay for the replacement (around $200), but the captain repeatedly berated me in front of my wife, sister, and two young nephews for the rest of the trip, making what should have been an accident into an embarrassing and uncomfortable ordeal.

Between the poor fish care, lack of basic hospitality, and the captain’s unprofessional handling of an honest mistake, this trip was a complete disappointment. I will not be booking with this charter again.

Luck of the draw…our charter just happened to coincide with dead low tide, which seriously affects the fishing but Captain Dick, with 55 years of charter experience and knowledge took us to where he knew we might find fish and we did!  After about a half dozen good-sized blues were caught, we got into the stripers and never looked back, catching our limit.  Dick’s grandson, Charlie, the mate was also right on it with keeping us in the water and did a great job filleting out the catch.  Thanks Cap and Mate for a great afternoon!

Had a wonderful time fishing with these two. I was able to bring along my father and my 90 year old grandfather. We all had the most amazing time catching fish taking pictures and enjoying conversation. Both the Captain and firstmate knew exactly what they were doing and right where to go to find big fish!!! Very grateful for them and would totally book with them again.
