I fished two mornings with Tayo. He got me on to young tarpon both days. I had numerous shot and strikes. I touched the leader or boated tarpon each day. The first day we followed up with an hour of hot bone fishing. I had 5 fish on and boated two. We tried to fish bonefish the second day but wind and steady rain made spotting them impossible so we casted for little tarpon instead. A good choice. He is a mangrove maniac! Lol

The only downside is I wish we new in advance that when fishing the flats that only one person could fly fish at a time. The other person either used a spinning rod or didn’t fish.

We had a great day on the water and caught several different species of fish. It was a good trip and I would recommend it. Be prepared for all day in the sun. There is no shade and you will burn if not liberally protected. I would suggest a long sleeve fishing shirt and a lot of sun screen. Definitely worth the money to me.

Due to an unforeseen situation brought by Mother Nature, we had to abandon our original plan of fishing the mangroves for tarpon and snook after only about an hour. No problem! Our Captain took us out into the flats where we caught lots of bonefish! Both Neftali and his first mate have Eagle eyes and can spot fish from far out. I can’t recommend enough that if you’re fly fishing, you practice making long casts into and with the wind to maximize your time!
